Joanna Angel just mentioned RSS in a talk
Showing the widespread use of technology and standards that Aaron Schwartz helped co-create - at 14 he was co-author of the RSS 1.0 Spec.
I wrote about that, with the embedded video by Joanna - in the hope that we can temper our greed for justice against copyright violators enough to not completely alienate the idealist volunteers that really create and maintain the internet. Large legal penalties and financial judgements can make a big public example but destroy individual lives and maybe even cause backlashes that individual companies will not survive. Just a thought: http://impeccableliberalcredentials....ay-before.html |
