Try disabling Hardware Acceleration in Firefox

Tools>Options

Advanced (top), General tab

Untick Hardware Acceleration when available

Click OK, restart Firefox

Fixed the problem!
I redownloaded flash and also tweeked firefox to run in compatibility mode with windows XP SR 3. You can set this by right-clicking on properties of your firefox hortcut under Windows 8 and opening the compatibility Tab. Either this or the new download fixed the problem, can't be sure which.

Cheers
