I havent been around here lately, mostly cause I don't need to be. I deal with only a select few when it comes to marketing and PR.
However, after attending two weeks of trade shows both in adult and non adult, I had to make up my own awards cause a week in Vegas will make you do weird shit.

"Most Annoying Person to Shake Hands with a Tradeshow": WINNER-Max Hardcore.
He edged out Porno Dan by a knuckle. Both of these perverts should be locked up in a mental institution or jail. How many times can Max come over to a table and introduce himself? Back to Solitary Confinement Cowboy.

The "I Think People Forgot I was Nuts Award" WINNER: Chris Lebrun Chris 2.0, 3.0, 4.0

Drugs and anti psychotic drugs make people do and say weird things, however when you are weird and sober, there is no excuse. Good to see you and Lori Z back at trade shows :-)

"Best Shakedown at a Tradeshow Award"- WINNER: FSC Free Speech Coalition pulled the most gangster move ever in the adult biz, by almost literally locking the doors of the XBIZ Awards and shaking down every company left that makes adult movies. Gangster Gangster.

"Their Camera Was Everywhere Award"- Winner: JFK often imitated but never duplicated Julius is still as ubiquitous at a tradeshow as "Pink Eye".

Those categories could easily apply to any adult convention, too.

I recall the first BondCon2001 in Queens, NY - just after 9/11 - and the same types of characters were omni-present. We had a guy who managed to constantly get his camera in everyone's face from start-to-finish. I was almost convinced he must've been twins or triplets - he was everywhere. Does the world really need pics of adult webmasters outside the hotel having a smoke?

And when you mentioned "most annoying guy to shake hands with" - I instantly thought of this one guy (a fairly household name in adult - I won't mention here) - came over to our booth to introduce himself - although I already recognized who he was...and proceeded to fawn all over us and say what a big fan he was of our work. At first I was humbled - but he kept gushing on and on to the point it became almost an embarrassment. And he kept it up for three solid days - always wanting to shake hands each time he wandered over to our table. It got rather weird.

I'd add "the Fanboy Award". Although BondCon was primarily a BDSM/fetish producer and webmaster convention, one guy I recall was flaunting himself as some sort of producer, but as we came to realize was merely a fanboy who spent all his time bulk downloading everyone's websites with stolen usernames/passwords off IRC. He put on a pretty good act, albeit - he had a few convinced he was a content producer.

My Fav 'Max Hardcore' moment was in 04/05?

We were all hanging out at the circle bar after the awards, and max was running about waving his award in the air, saying 'Hi, I'm Max Hardcore - I've just won an award...'

People are saying well done and congratulations etc...

Following day, it was clear that the actual *style* of the award had changed... He had brought an old award with him, and was showing it off!

That years award trophies looked totally different !
