Any one from plugrush?

Hello,

My plugs are being rejected for some reason or other, I need some rep from plugrush to look into this personally.

Please post your personal email so I can discuss this issue with you.

Cheers

Open a support ticket and ask why. You usually get a reply very fast.

Nextri, we sent an email five days ago to abuse @ plugrush regarding two sites, nobody has responded and as far as we can tell one of these sites is still active.

Perhaps you'd be kind enough to reply.

Any progress on disabling widgets ? To an outsider they still look active thus not much of a deterrent.

Perhaps you could whitelist copycontrol.org in your spam filters and a reply would be nice. Then we can deal with such things off the board.

What would be the benefit of disabling widgets? What is your goal with this whole campaign of yours? Is it not to prevent these infringers from generating revenue? When we disable their account, they stop generating revenue. From my perspective it would be better that we leave the widgets up without tracking it, so that we direct the visitors away from sites that post copyrighted material, and towards sites that are legit, to our hardworking advertisers and publishers, who can then try to convert these visitors the right way.

Or do you want us to disable them just for your own sake, so you can see if they are banned or not?
After we ban them, it's usually only gonna take a couple of days until they replace our widgets with ads from some other network, so then you'll know..

So are you saying that you don't charge for the clicks on each of those banners ? The advertisers are getting those clicks for free ?

The whole idea is to break the cycle of piracy by removing the incentive , be that incentive be born out of revenue, traffic or anything else.

Yes, that is correct. The advertiser still gets the traffic, but is not paying for it. The banned website is also not receiving any traded traffic if they were also using us to trade. So I would say the incentive is definitely removed.

However the rest of the world sees Plugrush associated with Piracy, I would have thought you'd want to avoid that stigma ?

The rest of the world? The rest of the world doesn't know what content is pirated and what is not. The people who care, are generally people in this industry. And most of those know about us, and our stand on these issues, from reading posts like these, talking with us at conventions, or contacting us directly. Those who have a problem with our widgets being on any website usually contact us about it. Not everyone feel the need to create a public thread about the smallest little issue or question they have..

You've stated publicly that you will work with us, yet when we emailed a report we received no reply and the widgets concerned are still active on one of the sites reported, so how do you suggest we keep track of who's terminated ?

Perhaps we should play a logic game for a moment.

Let us assume that I own a store (either virtual or traditional) and I want to get people to come my store and buy stuff. The operative phrase being BUY STUFF.

Without a doubt I am going to get lookie loos and even some shoplifters.

But being a smart business man I am going to try and offset those two problems by working hard to get as many serious and potential buyers possible. So I pay a marketing firm that will take the time to help me filter out the people that have no intention of ever buying and the potential crooks.

Afterall it is not just about getting people to come to my store it is about making sure the "RIGHT" people come in. Because if 1000 people come to your store and no one buys anything or just steals stuff... You are not going to be in business for very long.
Am I right that the above makes logical sense???

Someone with an online business wants to buy traffic and has to choose between a traffic seller that takes the time to qualify his sources and sends only people that are serious about spending money.. and another traffic seller who's sources of traffic are pirate sites and freeloader sites.
Who do you think is obviously the better choice?
If I can use an anlogy...
If someone owened an expensive jewelry shop on Radeo drive in Beverley Hills.. Do you think they are going to want homeless dumpster divers coming in or do you think they want the gentleman that just paid cash for his wife's new Jaguar?

This is/was my last message on GFY. Good luck to all of you and I wish everyone that works hard and does decent business great success in their endevours.

I don't like posting my personal email on here, just create a support ticket asking for "Russell" and from there we can discuss personal contact information.

yes, it went to spam. I'll make sure it doesn't from now on. I suggest you direct your efforts at sites with alexarank a bit lower than 500k though.

Plugrush works wonders for me. Actually, a bit too great, as I'm getting ten times more traffic then I send. Do you think it would be a bad thing in the future, maybe I 'll get less for the traffic I send or something?
