You would rather try and fail, because you tried and failed. You wont see me bitching about a movie career. I am not an actor. So I don't act. It also seems like by every other successful movie standards he failed. At 9 bucks a seat, it seems about 39 people, out of all the people in the world. Took in this movie. Is his movie on Netflix even? Ive never seen it being played on any cable channel. This is how movies make money after they are out of the theater. I know middle man is on netflix and makes money that way. Pretty sure it was on cable as well. "Atleast he was in a movie". And this is nothing against him personally. It could have been Joe Schmo who made a shit movie. An unsuccesful movie is an unsuccessful movie no matter who makes it. God bless him, baruch hasham, he made a movie. It was a dud. Ide love to see his SAG residual checks..

I didn't say it was a hit, but fail? depends on your definition of failure.

kevin made a movie. it got produced. it generated revenue. he learned a lot. the public revenue numbers arn't always the whole story.

he followed a dream, and then moved on.
I've had many businesses fail financially, and some hit big. if you had a brain cell or two you'd realize the most successful people fail all the time. they keep trying.

Have you failed at anything that got the kind of attention Kevin's project did?

i don't see it as a failure. i see a man who had the balls and will to follow and achieve his dream.

I agree with you that he did follow a dream and all that good stuff. It is more then most do. First off. If he did not put up his own money. What you are saying is moot. But as far as from not a personal emotions standpoint, and a money standpoint. It is not a success. It might be a success for him personally to be in a movie. But the movie was not a success as far as box office is concerned. No, unless the budget was 5k.

When your about page on your personal site speaks about the movie as if it was a box office hit, and then you check the movies IMDb page and see it didn't even gross $20k, you have to realize that you're trying to make yourself sound successful... When you're not.

generally it's the unsuccessful people who judge others on their success.

In generally, you mean you are on the guys nutsack so you will say anything to avoid just agreeing with the fact that the movie did not make any money.

And this comes from a big huge fat guy who claims he is good loking in his said and the fact that you got ripped on this board for being unsuccessful. So let me guess. When you were down, all the people who put you down were unsuccessful people, and you were the money making guru? Please. Just be honest. The movie did not make money in the box office. Thats it...

I watched them both, nothing that I'd look forward in watching again. To be honest I wouldn't even place the DVD's on the shelf with the other 800-900 I own. Economically both where a huge loss, as movies I wouldn't say FAIL, but they both went very close.

Any movie that has some sort of release and manages to pull in a bit more than $300 on opening weekend is a failure and there's not much you can say to argue otherwise.

Netflix, VOD and the like don't put much in the way of $$$ into the film makers pocket.

And also, because it's obvious you and Bryan G know nothing about how movies are made. Kevin was an actor in the movie, he's not listed anywhere in a production capacity. All he did was show up and pretend to be himself. Hardly anyone would consider that "making a movie".

KB didn't make a movie. He was an actor in a low budget, barely distributed flick.

Chris Mallick stole $20 million, got away with it and made a few movies.

Pretty easy to figure out who the winner is.

Funny, you're the perfect example of this. For years on this board, you judged people who you deemed not as successful as you, calling them failures and idiots. Then you fail big time in your night club venture and your return to adult flops miserably. So you're right, generally those who like to judge others on their success end up becoming unsuccessful.

there still would have been some good dvd sales on either movie.

Depending on who got into blockbuster with the most penetration(porn pun) that person would have made the winner.

It was not unheard of for a small budget movie to make a few million in sales on dvd.

Theater gross is not a very good indication of success in independent cinema as most theater owners want commercial studio movies that have ad budgets behind them.
