I agree. Some programs continue to email me even after repeated emails to unsubscribe.

If gmail etc just hit report spam

this will slowly help fuck their reputation up and thus all emails they send will then hit the spam box of other users.

In the end it will only hurt themselves

As stated, it it illegal to not have a working unsub mechanism. View the full email header, work out the ISP that sent it, and complain to them, works every time.

We send them via ccbilla affiliate area, we get some asking to unsubscribe but its not poss in the admin area, instead you have to group those affiliates or deactivate their accounts, if its a ccbill problem go into your affiliate panel and you can edit it there.

I set filters to put them in the right folder. I like to read business related emails...all In One folder makes it easy to delete when you are done.

I have always been confused by those in our industry that complain about getting business emails.

Yeah, exactly. With CCBill it's a major pain. You can send an email to all affiliates but can't choose specific affiliates or even edit the list. It really sucks. I wish CCBill would overhaul this and make it easier to remove emails from the mass mailing list. Thankfully I rarely send affiliate emails (maybe once a year).

Business related emails are fine, but sometimes people over do it. Like I have one sponsor who was sending me 2 or 3 emails a day about stuff, I unsubscribed, and then a month later my account was "switched" to a "new affiliate rep" and that apparently triggers them resending emails again... I've explicitly emailed back asking for the constant emails to stop, and they will for about a month, then start back up again.

Even with unsubscribe links, unwanted emails are considered spam. If you want to send an email a day or week about things, like new FHG's that's cool, but don't fucking send me 30 emails a week about bullshit I don't fucking care about, and don't fucking turn it back on after I shut it off myself.

Same with me.

We also use CCBIll and it is a Known issue that we the program can not remove the affiliate from that list but CCBIll Can do it from what I understand. From time to time we get an email asking to be removed but normally they are the people that are dropping out of adult.

yea mildly relevant 'spam' you signed up for?

what's crazy is people take the time to email, then bitch, about getting the newsletter

it's a link at the bottom of the email. click it.

Exactly.

Upon signing up, there is a box to recieve emails, check it or uncheck it. If you signed up to a program under an existing ccbill ID that is set to receive emails, then the box is checked by default.

If I am correct, you can login to ccbill, bring up your list of affiliate programs, click the url of the program and change your settings to not receive them.

Maybe I am missing something.

On another note, we have not sent any webmaster notifications YET! However we do plan on it as soon as we are done restructuring our program, so BEWARE! Oh, and even if you turn off regular notifications in your settings, I will be sending our most IMPORTANT emails anyways. Just one-offs, so nothing to "unsubscribe" from. If you are an affiliate then it is NOT spam.
