Is United States stronger then Russia and China together?

In case of WW3...
If we say that Russia and China are allies. Is the United States stronger then Russia and China together?

Russia does not fuck around. As stupid as we've become, we should not fuck with them. I've always tried to tell everyone that.

China, well, if we stop buying their trash, they're fucked. If they grow a brain and avoid our dollar and our debt, we're fucked. I think relations with china and the usa are pretty similar to a perfectly circular human centipede arrangement.

USA's military is Superior to both their army's, I think they would win by sheer numbers tho.

u.s. could stop china dead by simply stopping buying their shit. wars are won on supplies, war supplies are expensive, china would run out of steam in an engaged, prolonged war fought here, we would stop buying chinese goods, their cash flow would dry up in months, china loses.

so then it boils down to u.s. v russia, and as an american, i would not want to wage that war, there's a shit load of russians and they can fight but so can we, it would be very ugly.

that does make more sense and certainly cements my point, there's no real chance of shit hitting the fan with us and china. we are very much in bed with each other already and every day that relationship gets deeper.

russia on the other hand, i never really felt like the cold war ended per se. i could see some hostilities between us again unfortunately, but...

No, but we spend more money on "defense" than all others combined.

So if war does break out, we'll have plenty of $100 toilet seats and other assorted shit that "defense" contractors (friends and cronies of Congressmen) have charged the Govt. for.

don't forget ww1, not 2. we've forgotten a lot of what allowed that to happen, banks had a tight grip then and politics spun out of control combined with new technology, it's a recipe.

not saying it will happen, however, i don't think i can say there will never be another world war.

People have no clue to the destructive power of an Ohio class submarine, we called them boomers.
I was on what was called a fast attack.

The Soviets had the Typhoon class submarine, featured in the movie Hunt for Red October.

China will soon carry nukes on their submarines.

In WWII, Submarines made up 2% of the fleet, yet sank more ships than the rest of the fleet. I've had conversations with WWII Sub Sailors, they had balls that clanked

The idea of having this was to have as a deterrent and never use and I hope we never do.

It was scary shit serving during the cold war

world war 1 too, they had a huge impact on the naval war, in fact, all the bad ass dreadnaught category battleships usually stayed in port since the admiralty did not want to risk them to subs. conswquently, there was 1 naval battle in the entire ww1. the fact is, the submarine is the decisive weapon in naval battle and more.

One can only hope. Unfortunately WW3 would not be anything like WW2, the war of industry.
Their are many reasons why Germany lost the war but the main reason is because they couldn't deal with the USA's ability to produce armaments and with the huge amount of Soviet's coming from their east. If they waited a few more years before they waged war it may have come out very differently. If war was waged today even without nukes it would still be total annihilation for all those involved. It would just take a few years instead of hours.

It must have been some scary shit.. And I can only imagine how often you guys needed to change your shorts. Especially when Cuba decided it was a good idea to provide the Russians a military base.

I talked to an old submariner from WWII about some of the things they did, he and I are members of the USSVI. They were basically surface ships that traveled fast on the surface because of their small size and would spot a supply ship, race ahead of it and submerge waiting for the ship to cross it's path and fire torpedo's broad siding it. Beginning of WWII, they were not accurate at all.

Was always proud of the heritage that came with my dolphins

I was pacific fleet out of Pearl Harbor, Cuba didn't effect me really. Before my time, I was off the coast during the Iran Crisis.

you should be proud, you were deep in it and the legacy of subs. not way back in the supply line eh. nutty.

you are lucky to get to talk with ww2 vets, i was thinking recently there can't be too many left and the day is prolly approaching that they will be all gone.

war isn't completely about manpower or what artillery you possess as much as it is about the way you approach your enemy. although it helps when you're technologically superior to your opponent. i still believe all that aside our country could put up more than enough to defeat anything on this planet given the right motivation.

Really? How do you suggest one may confront the Chinese? Pound them like we did Japan? and then what happens when we don't break their will? Cant nuke them like we did in Japan to avoid full scale invasion. Would just end up much like the Korean war. Where the US ends up in a stalemate.

I honestly believe... That the United States would kick ass.

I don't know too much about the status of Russia's armed forces. Everything seems to be in disarray there still with their military. With that said, remember what happened during WWII - Mother Russia just kept throwing in fresh division after division; Divisions of men Russia itself didn't know it had until it needed them.

China's military is huge, but technologically inferior. They are just starting to work with stealth technology, twenty or thirty year old technology. China also has no Blue Water Navy - meaning, their navy is unable to do anything other than operate off it's own coast. China also does not have an aircraft carrier - other than the one they bought some time ago from the Russians which is not in operation.

Then compare this to the United States that has invaded two countries in the past ten years or fifteen years and kicked ass. In fact, the United States has re-defined the nature of warfare - Instead of large armies and navies slugging it out across vast areas, small pinprick attacks shut down command & communications and tracking, render military forces unable to communicate or move, and destroys the ability of governments to function.

In fact, the United States has re-defined the nature of warfare - Instead of large armies and navies slugging it out across vast areas, small pinprick attacks shut down command & communications and tracking, render military forces unable to communicate or move, and destroys the ability of governments to function.
Haven't you learned anything about past wars? The only way to win is to break the enemy's will to fight or by full scale invasion. Your not going to accomplish that in the long run when both sides are pounding the hell out of each other to the point of annihilation. And if you think USA is going to invade China or Russia and win your fucking nuts. Especially when the USA's knows they would certainly use nukes as the last resort.
If WW3 happens its simply going to get ugly real fast... Everyone will be sending nukes until the entire planet is no longer habitable. The USA will not win shit.. nor will anyone else.

futile to discuss a WWIII scenario involving the US, China and Russia directly confronting one another - imagine two tough guys about to have a street fight, they both agree that each of them has the strength and skill to kill one another so they agree they will each tie one arm behind their backs, as soon as one guy begins taking a pounding guess what, he's gonna do his best to get his other arm free.

mutual assured destruction. why i believe there won't be anything close to another World War like the two in the last century.

Proxy wars - those we have and will have.

I do a lot of reading on WWII - what I like reading best are diaries and personal recollections of those who were in combat. Anybody who has a hardon for war is a fool - you know who are the biggest pacifists? Infantrymen who have been on the front line, because they know the hell that war is.

Only 10-12% of soldiers in WWII actually saw combat.

Anyone read China's Dream?

I do not think China and Russia are buddies. They just have the same clients.

China is in big trouble internally...There is also so much Chinese money in the US and its allies, China aint attacking anybody.

There is a lot of truth in what you just said.

I honestly believe in order to win a war, you must have an all out invasion, and it must be fucking brutal. The invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan were pinpricks, quickly overwhelmed both the governments and military forces, but did nothing to pacify the local populations. At the close of WWII both Germany and Japan were exhausted due to the length of the fighting and the destruction. With Iraq and Afghanistan the people said "new government, new military, business as usual".

Would the US need to invade? Not at all. They can attack the government and it's offices, and the military. This wins wars in Middle Eastern countries, but imagine what it would do to an industrialized country like China or Russia. Imagine twenty million people trying to flee Beijing.

Nuclear war? Never gonna happen. Even if China, Russia, or the US was about to be completely over run by an enemy force... They wouldn't use nukes. The moment one country, in desperation, launches a nuke... The attacking country would do the same. Tens of millions of people would die, and nothing at all would change.

North Korea seems to have the nuke now. Did you notice what changed? Nothing at all. They still threaten everyone, and the rest of the world still puts further sanctions on them. In fact, the only thing that has changed is China and their lack of support for NK - because China does not want a nuclear war on it's border.

I did not know this about you. I too devour everything I can about WWII to the point where I have to force myself to read something else every now and then. I just finished a book about the cold war - learned a ton - and now I'm reading a book about PT boats.

I love my freaking kindle.

arms races. Years ago the US was ahead of the race, but that was years ago. and now even more cuts. every other country could now increase.

our stuff is still impressive, but at one point the AK47 was state of the art. The spending is to keep on top of the game. Youre a fucking idiot if you think the US is the only one who will ever start wars
