![]() So my server HD's (yes, all of them) broke the other week and webair feared that all my data was lost. Being a lazy dumbass I did not have a backup plan and only old local backups. I thought that it was all gone and that I was going to have to rebuild everything but the webair guys told me to give them a few days to see what they could do even though the prognosis was quite bad.
Said and done I waited for about a week and yesterday I got the message that all my data had been saved and that I could continue my operations as usual. I did not pay a cent for the service nor did they have to do this. During the anxious days of waiting for the result they also kept a great communication going letting me know the progress and setbacks as they happened. They basically did a full data recovery which would have cost me a great deal if I would have had to send the discs to a company specialized in that kind of thing. Just wanted to let people know what webair goes beyond the call of duty when it comes to satisfying customers, at least in my experience. Big thanks guys! |

So you rent a server from them, and their hard drive breaks. Then it takes a week to fix and you say its amazing?
You're lost.... Ever rent a car and have something break? Every rent an apt and have something break? |

I had all my laptop drives die recently... I am running SpinRite on the main drive for 560 hours now, and supposed 2,137 hours to go (stuck on some really bad sectors right now, will decrease back to normal when it gets back to good sectors)... But yeah, over 3 weeks and still under 20% recovered. It takes awhile, depending on drive size and damage done. I have 3 more drives to run through after this one.

When you rent equipment from someone. It is their equipment and it is there job to fix it. I have been involved in the hosting industry since the late 90's and anyone who I have worked with or worked for. Would say having a client down for a week on your rented equipment is not good business. Same goes for treating small customers like shit, which is always a big complaint about them on here. I know where there facility is and that it is nice. That doesn't mean anything for the quality of service. It really just kind of blows my mind sometimes how naive people are about quality of service. You had some issues and worked through it.....to me that does not make sense. You rely on these people to run your business. When I am running a business there is no excuse for anything less then perfection. How many signups do you lose with an hour of downtime? Are they willing to reimburse you for it? The hosting company in my sig pays me per signup. I do not know who owns it or anyone who works there. I just have had good experience there and they pay a good amount per sign up. I hope people signup so I can get paid. I will also help lead them in the right direction if they want some words of wisdom. They probably dont even know webair exists. You on the other hand, are buddies with these guys. Therefore I am quite sure you get preferred service when it comes to support. If this was not Webair and it was some other hosting company that made the same mistakes. I would call them out as well. I have nothing against them personally or as a company. No one ever has anything good to say about them except people who get free hosting or have paid sig's. As I said. If this was Joe Schmo's Web Hosting that the OP started this thread about. I would have said the same comment. When you have so many customers, you are bound to not make someone happy. But I think its gone past that already. There are plenty of hosts out there that are never down, that are completely redundant, that backup there data, and that have great customer service. There is no need to settle. You are willing to stick it out because it is your friend. That is not the case with everyone. Happy Passover to you as well. I am surprised you are not in Miami with the rest of the NY Jews ![]() |

I will openly admit that Webair approached me years ago to support them here. They offered me a free server in exchange for promoting and defending them on GFY. Specifically, Mike made this offer. I had recently purchased another affiliate program and decided to transfer the sites to that server until I was ready to revamp and put them back online.
I made a couple of nice posts but stopped and pulled them out of my sig the second they lost my entire members area. The hosting companies currently represented in my sig have been solid for me and neither of them have ever asked me to defend them, post on their behalf, or cause problems for any of their competition. What they have done is provided great service, minimal downtime, and simply proven why they are better than most. On the other hand, the OP of this thread has changed his screen name due to his poor history on GFY. Anybody that trusts him or his opinions is asking for trouble. ![]() |

I wouldn't call that a problem. If you want virtual machines from a solid company, try ezp.net. They are pro-active, respond quickly to support issues, and go above and beyond to assist with things that most dedicated hosts would not give you the time of day on. Need something larger but not a dedicate box? I've had great experiences so far with PhoenixNAP.com's cloud. I decided to try it out because CCBill has been so generous to the adult community over the years, I wanted to kick them back some business. So far, no regrets. |

Buy a cheap vps with 128/256 ram and a decent amount of disk space and make an external backup everyday.

AaronM you are sad man. Are you still holding a grudge against me?
We have never done any business together ever, he just plain does not like me. Your behavior is similar to that of a teenage girl, just pathetic man. I feel sorry for you. Also coming in here and admitting that you took bribes to lie to the members of gfy and to lure them into buying something? Great for your credibility man, good stuff. |

A grudge? No, not at all. A grudge is something personal. What I hold against you is your inability to properly run a content company, selling non 2257 compliant content, and most importantly, selling adult content with children in it. How about you take a minute to read what I posted? I never lied about my experiences with Webair. Yes they did try to bribe me to do so but my support stopped the moment they fucked up. Twist my words if you like. Everybody here can see what you did there. I have no need to twist anything I have to say about you or the host you're sucking off. The truth is bad enough. |

I have sent a report to the admins so that they can decide whether what you are doing is good practice on this forum. |
