Something like that happened to Dave and i on our way to Croatia a few years ago.
Some dude was freaking out that one of his muslim wives had to sit next to us. There were no other seats possible. Caused a big ruckus.
The pilot came back and told him he can get off the plane if he says another word.

He didnt want his muslim wife sitting next to us...i forget the words he used...basically racist based insults...i was laughing my ass off the whole time.

Great. Now you are comparing a federal regulation. When smoking was legal on aircrafts. I know people that would smoke weed on plains. I have friends that used to blaze weed on flights to moscow on a regular basis. People smoked like chimneys on that plane. But now smoking is not aloud on planes. So no.
