Paxum: Identity confirmation document expiry notification‏

Yeah, i was identified, now i need to identify again, because when my card expires, i'm not me anymore....

Also i don't like to have copy of legal document on the wild. You know "my security".

Hi pornmasta,

To maintain a verified account with Paxum, we must always have valid Picture ID submitted for your account.

When your active picture ID expires then you will receive an email notification informing you that we require a non-expired ID to be uploaded to your account. You have up to 6 weeks to provide this new document to us before there are any limitations applied to your Paxum account.

This is standard practice for every Paxum account-holder.

You can update your Picture ID by submitting a scan or photograph to the section; My Account >> Profile Settings >> Identity Confirmation, within your Paxum account.

Thanks

People need to stop complaining about Paxxum or other payment processors policies. Companies like these are valuable targets to hackers and identity thieves and they go out of their way to make sure that YOU are really YOU and protect YOUR MONEY.

Instead of complaining constantly about the extra paperwork you have to do (poor baby), you should work with them to make their jobs a little easier, and maybe keep their rates a little lower in the process.

What makes a picture ID any more or less valid a day after it expires?

If it was good enough to be a likeness of 'me' for the last 10 plus years, why suddenly on the day after it expires is it no longer 'me' any more?

I've never understood that, not specifically aiming that towards Paxum just a general 'wtf'.

But yeah on the Paxum issue, its because their bank told them they need to email you about it and that you must use blue ink whilst sending them precisely 1ml of fresh blood digitally that you got by pricking your left index finger with a needle no larger than 1.083mm in width otherwise they cannot verify the blood is yours.

People complain when they ask for more than their personal bank does. Totally understandable.

The day they do get hacked by someone seeking identities, it is going to be a gold mine.

I don't think you understand all of the hassles some of their policies can create for people. I've been through a situation with another company who wanted a couple IDs and they were very picky just like Paxum. It ended up being a nightmare to the point where I told them to "forget it". People have a right to complain and to choose not to use their service if they don't want to deal with it.

I have still to hear one valid reason as to how they actually protect you with all that information they gather about you. So far all they seem to do is protect themselves.

I completely agree - if a payment processor or any other company's policies are too much for you then of course shop around and find another company. I totally agree with you.

The point I was trying to make was that Paxxum's policies are their policies, and you must accept those policies to work with them. They need "Legal" proof that you are who you say you are, and that means current / non expired passports, drivers license, etc. It might be a hassle for you but it ensures uninterrupted services to you and protection for you when someone else tries to steal your money. A "nightmare" would be paxxum paying out your funds to someone else.

Cheers!

Lol, You would have to ask them that but I know you know that this is not what I mean. Only you would have all of the ID items they are asking for. A common password theif would not, so someone asking Paxxum to change your payout details would be pretty tough for them BECAUSE of their policies that are intended to protect you.

FYI, you may want to edit the email template that goes out for this to prevent confusion as when I got it last month it did not indicate it was needed due to expiration as you state even though that was the reason.

*** My drivers license expired a month ago, and at my bank, where I have had 4 accounts since 1999, and they know me by name, put me through the ringers to do a $3,000 cash withdrawal when I had just passed the expiration date by 3 days, and hadn't received my replacement in the mail. {it comes by mail here in NV if you renew online}.
I literally had to tell them such specific, "no way anyone else could possibly know", details about the account, that there would be NO WAY, I could be someone else...even though they have known me in there for about 7 years! Even details about the girl who this account is a joint account with, were necessary for me to know, since she's on it with me, too.
I even joked that, "even my evil twin brother" wouldn't know these details.

Point being, expired ID's, are just that...expired. Not solely for driving privileges.
...and not, as you stated, only for Paxum...
;-(

Also, updating it thru Paxum, too about, oh....2 minutes. :P

I haven't driven a car for many years now. Once several years ago (after my drivers license had expired though) I went to buy some beer. The temp girl asks for my ID so I give it to her so she can see I'm in my 40's and she says "Sorry it's expired." I said so what? It's still valid state ID, I just can't drive anymore. Which is in fact the truth according to the government. Naturally a more experienced person had to come correct the newbie.

Of course this doesn't mean anything in regards to a payment processor or whatever, but basically "expired" ID's aren't usually invalid as ID's. Only invalid for the activity they were issued for. I'm sure the expiration date is more of rough guide, like changing smoke detector batteries when daylight savings time happens.

come on, we all know most companies "security" lacks any common sense or logic, but really, it's not just Paxum, most financial companies do this. In any event, if you don't like a service you don't use it. Or do you go to the bank and yell because they ask for docs? What's different here? I'd be even more careful with online stuff than my regular bank where I have more resources if anything goes wrong.

I know by experience they have no idea on what to do with most of the docs they ask for, nor they know why they do it. And I understand that sometimes it can be very frustrating, but to be honest, I prefer them to be picky that not caring at all. Just my 2 epassportes

I joke but I like Paxum overall and am glad they exist. Their security is a little ridiculous though. I think it's easier to get a passport than a verified Paxum account.

Thanks
Just because it is standard practice for evey Paxum account holder, doesn't mean it isn't stupid..

You know what you use to get a New ID?? You use your OLD one.. HAHA Stupid shit.
