:stop Per CCBill- MasterCard will be implementing an annual fee of $500 (payment processor help)

I guess one of our sites are high risk- Are there any processing companies that can help us get around this obstacle?

Paxum?

Anyone?

...also need to be able to process Visa transactions for said site as well. (Site considered High Risk)

List contact info... Thanks in advance!

Dear xxxx,

As you may be aware, starting May 24, 2013, MasterCard will be implementing an annual fee of $500 as a requirement for accepting payments on what MasterCard deems as high-risk sales. This fee will be applicable to your online business, and as your trusted e-commerce platform, we need to make you aware of a couple of key items.

CCBill is a MasterCard Payment Facilitator; meaning we will process MasterCard sales, provided the annual fee is paid
To keep processing with MasterCard, you can submit your payment here, or contact CCBill Contract Administration at [email protected] to set up the first $500 annual payment
If you do not contact Contract Administration prior to May 24, you will NO LONGER be able to process MasterCard payments through CCBill

Yes, I have the same question - can anyone suggest anything? We've been using CCBill for years and years - and we did not pay $750 for Visa, now they want $500 for MC. I know it's not ccbill, but still..... Suggestions, please.

Hi Sean,

While we do not offer 3rd party credit card processing at Paxum, we do offer you the ability to accept instant P2P (peer-to-peer) payments for your paysite memberships, and set up recurring subscriptions/memberships.

If you use our API/IPN you can create a connection between your database and ours so that you can set up instant delivery of membership to your customers upon confirmed payment through Paxum.

In order to send funds to you through our P2P payment option, the client/consumer must also have a Paxum account. It is always free to get a Paxum account, and our clients can fund their accounts directly with wire, check, ACH (in US only), or by external credit card. The external credit card option is available for Visa and MasterCard only and does require additional verification.

We also have a referral program in place so you can earn referral commissions for clients you send to us who verify and either fund their Paxum account with up to $200 USD, or request a Paxum MasterCard. It's free to register for our referral program, and every verified Paxum client (both business and personal) has the option to register.

I understand this does not match instant processing for Visa or MasterCard payments, however if you encourage your clients to sign up and use Paxum as an alternative, you will
  • Save on processing fees (we do not charge anything to receive funds via P2P)
  • Earn some additional dollars from each paying customer (through our referral program)
  • Provide your customers with an anonymous payment method (when they send you a payment, all you see is an email address, no personal information)

There are no monthly maintenance fees with Paxum, and you can receive unlimited funds to your account. All P2P payments are sent and received instantly, no delays.

We have multiple withdrawal methods for you to access your funds; wire, check, EFT, to an external credit card, or to the Paxum MasterCard. The Paxum MasterCard allows you to withdraw your funds from any MasterCard supported ATM instantly, with no delays. This means that you can receive a payment for a membership, transfer the funds to your MasterCard and withdraw it at an ATM (or spend at stores/online/etc) within seconds.

I'd be happy to discuss this further with you if you're interested. While I'm sure you will be trying to arrange a new 3rd party credit card processing relationship, I believe it would be of benefit for you to offer Paxum as an alternative payment option to your customers as well, particularly since it's always free to receive money with us.

Feel free to hit me up if you want to chat about this more. My contact info is in my sig

As you point out..."they" isn't CCBILL...so pretty much many (not necessarily "all") of the other processors have the same thing going on.
Sucks ass...

Probably shouldn't be running paysites if $500 extra a year is fucking up your biz. I personally look forward to less competition

On average what percentage of total sales are via MC for a typical CCBill program?

About 1/3 of all our card signups are MasterCard. I was quite surprised when I looked into it.

100 paysites that make 1k a year each is still a 6 figure income, and a living wage for pretty much anyone on the planet, and no matter how shitty that biz model might be looked at by those up on high horses, more power to those that do it.

$500 per site per processor in MC fees kills that solid 6 figure a year income stone cold dead. Or is it only 'playas' and 'ballers' who should be in the industry?

That's not a direct dig at you btw, just saying there are angles that are unseen by those on the upper rungs when they shit-talk people for moaning about a $500 fee

"High risk merchants now only have to pay $500 per Merchant ID."

That suggests that we shouldn't be paying this per biller?

If you have your own merchant account. You only pay the fee one te regardless of the amount of ate ways that you use.
Let us know if you have any questions.

These are the same posts that have been up since I posted about the fees last September.

Would be great if we could get clarification from the billers on whether they've questioned this with Mastercard and this really does mean clients have to repeat this fee for each biller. It doesn't seem a logical policy, but I can see how billers might not ask the pertinent question.

I have stated this many times before in other threads since september. If you have your own merchant account, you pay one time regardless of how many gateway you have that merchant account setup with. If you are using 3rd party processors, you pay for each one.

Any other questions?

Mitch

With all due respect, I'd rather have input from companies that are not pushing merchant accounts. I can't recall seeing CCBill or Epoch address the point.

MasterCard Fee

Good Evening,

My name is Thomas and I am the account manager for Verotel. For our current Merchant's that process over 100 Euro a week on average, we are covering the MasterCard registration fee for them. For new accounts that wish to start as a premium account and provide 6 months of processing history showing above 100 EUR/ week on average, we are waiving the 500 Euro registration fee. There is also not a separate Visa registration fee associated with the account. If your premium account processes over 1000 Euro a week , then there is not a weekly fee. If you have any questions about any changes, feel free to email directly over to [email protected] and I will be here to answer any questions.

Regards,

Thomas
