Mine is that it's the Govt. with all the power and they sell their power to the highest bidder.

In the end, we all get fucked...I'm just surprised at how successful the govt. has gotten at manipulating the population.
Back in the 1960's/early 1970's people protested against our govt.

Now...nothing. Hell, the media (who are supposed to be the watchdogs of govt.) haven't even shown any inclination to do what was once referred to as "investigative journalism".

These days they just go to the press room, get a copy of the official White House statements...and report it as fact.

Instead of "embedding" with the troops in Iraq and scrambling to be the biggest ass kisser to the White House so they could get the "good" assigned "embeddment"...they should have been investigating the Bush admin's claims that there were "Weapons Of Mass Destruction".

After that embarrassment, I would think they would have straightened up. But no...they continue to NOT do their job with the Obama administration.

The govt. seems to have it all wrapped up from my point of view.

Nobody is questioning them or holding them accountable. The media doesn't. And the people argue amongst themselves (like we are doing).

Textbook example of misdirection. Penn & Teller couldn't do it any better.
People protest now.. Look at OWS, but the cops shut it down with abusive force. In a sense even the Tea Party was a protest but it was much more politically motivated and took the side of the right, not the side of the United States.

The media on the other hand is fucking useless..

They aren't being targeted because they are speaking up. They are being targeted because such non profits are notorious for breaking the laws. Groups like this should be watched very closely. I think such groups are horrible - It's a legal way for them to hand off money to political candidates.

This isn't Democrats against the tea party. The fucking Democrats do this shit too. They all do.

illegal deals are illegal deals.. the fact that these 'deals' continue taking place, without any oversight, should tell us a great deal.

they do today. we call them lazy entitled fucks who should be concerning themselves with working (unless they're students, and the reasons for their not protesting get really muddled) we attack them with riot police, tear gas, illegal detention, political pressure (IRS)

looking at the beehive colony collapse, is another 'clue' on who holds power here

yea, im sure the military would have loved that. my understanding is they were intercepting and 'detaining for their safety' anyone from the US travelling there to 'document'.. only way to, realistically, be a reporter there, is to embed

comes down to who owns the media companies, and how those are connected to who owns the universities

Us arguing amongst ourselves is the biggest steps we can take, as a species, towards fixing the problems of today and creating the problems of tomorrow. In the day of the internet, ignorance is no longer a viable excuse.

I agree, but i think it comes down to the 'pyramid'. That structure has been alive and well for some time. Considering who owns banks etc, it's not a far (or crazy), assumption that the first 'powerhouse'.. still has power.

an IRS official admitted the group subjected Tea Party-related groups' applications for tax-exempt status to additional scrutiny.

ADDITIONAL SCRUTINY

This is a way for the democrats to go after the funds of the republicans. You of course know that there are many democrat funding groups, are they under additional scrutiny?

It sucks that the Tea Party and Conservatives groups were singled out -- but they're kind of a bunch of assholes. When you look at some of the underhanded bullshit they try to pull during election season.... well fuck 'em, they deserve to get hassled.

The irony of it all is Rubio calling for the IRS commissioner to step down when there hasn't been one for awhile. The last one was a Bush appointee holdover who was overseeing the IRS when this happened.

And now the DOJ is in trouble for getting the phone records of AP reporters.

This is what kills me about you. You see EVERYTHING from a political standpoint. You see "Obama going after Republican funding". Doesn't matter that Obama had nothing to do with this, that's what you see.

I want every non profit of a political nature to get "extra screening". Any non profit that raises money for any political party - be it Democratic or Republican or Green Party or Red Party or the fucking Nazis - to have extra screening. All of these political non profits are using them as a smoke screen to hide donors to political candidates.

Better yet, why doesn't Congress do their fucking jobs and shut down these loopholes. Oh that's right, they don't want - because they are the ones benefiting from it.

And, BTW, if it is found out that Obama ordered such actions by the IRS... Not only should he be impeached, he should be arrested. Period.

Funny, I watched a news report about this issue this morning... And it turns out this was allowed to happen because of the Patriot Act.

Fine target all of them, it's this one time they targeted just the Tea Party

No, that is an incorrect statement.

The IRS, during the normal course of business, noticed a new trend that was suspicious and investigated. In this case it was a political group... But I am guessing that the IRS sees suspicious trends and intentionally calls for new screening for certain key words on a regular basis. In other words, if there was an 80% increase for non profit organizations that benefited the "Northern Mariana Islands", the IRS would be interested in "further screening".

This seems suspicious to people unless they've run a non profit. My wife does - she runs my kid's sports league - and they recently lost their non profit status which was a huge issue for us. Seems the IRS is cracking down on suspicious activity because too many youth sports league don't follow the rules - which is understandable being as the people who run these do so on less than a part time basis during their free time and aren't accountants.

If we discover that anyone from the Democratic party ordered this, heads should roll. And if it leads all the way up to White House and to Obama boy, great, we should impeach him just like we did Nixon, and he should resign in disgrace. (In fact, I would love to see this just because the news has been rather dull recently.) But at this point it seems to be nothing more than the IRS doing it's freaking job.

Yet not a peep from any of you when Bush was doing it...........

The Internal Revenue Service has warned one of Southern California's largest and most liberal churches that it is at risk of losing its tax-exempt status because of an antiwar sermon two days before the 2004 presidential election.

In 2004, the NAACP was hit with an audit over accusations of improper political activity for criticizing the Bush administration.

It's funny how when Bush was the guy in charge the righties never had a problem with all those embassies getting attacked and Americans getting killed.

They never had a problem with the patriot act.. It was "hey if you aren't doing anything wrong you have nothing to worry about."

They never had any issues with starting two wars or spending billions upon billions of dollars..

Meanwhile soon as a black Democrat gets elected suddenly everything is an outrage.. I would have voted for Al Sharpton had I known you guys would flip out like this.

I have an idea.. How about all you Righties that don't want to pay taxes, don't want no govt or no EPA telling you what to do. All you righties that think you should own any fire arm you want.. How about you all move to fucking Iraq or Afghanistan.

It's pretty much your fucking utopia. Quit trying to turn this country into a third world shit hold.. Move to one that's already how you want it.

Funny picture you continually attempt to paint....

This was in 2006.

Bushes' Assets May Top $20 Million; Cheneys', $94 Million

There are a number of guys who post here that have assets more than Bush. I know it may be a lot of money to you, but in the bigger picture it's not that impressive.

What is it you do in this business, if you don't know of any of the guys that have more assets than Bush?

And no, Cheney's bank account is not impressive. Gates's. Bloomberg, Buffett. Those bank accounts are impressive.

What is it YOU do in this business?

We all know you claim to sit on your ass while being rewarded from the sweat of your workers from a company your daddy left you, but other than that, what is it you do?

Some interesting stuff for all of you who are defending this action that is coming to light:
Liberal group ProPublica came forward today and said the IRS sent all that tax info on the tea party people to THEM to be able to make media releases!!!

Wow.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ProPublica is the liberal "non-profit" "news organization" started and run by Herbert Sandler.
Turns out Sandler is one of the people that Time magazine says is one of the major guys that caused the banking crisis!!!

He ended up selling his finance company a few years ago for 24 BILLION dollars after he had finished helping to wreck the U.S. economy by giving out "predatory loans".

So a liberal Democrat does these things and instead of going to jail...he's a mufti-billionaire AND getting fed tax documents from the IRS (which should NEVER happen).

So go ahead and keep defending this you guys. Keep on saying it was just "business as usual".

It's not. It's a very dirty, dirty game being played. And as I said earlier...no different that what the Nixon administration did. Just remember...Nixon had "plausible deniability" too.

His staff claimed he wasn't told of the things they were doing.

Reminds me of Obama today. He apparently is completely clueless of what his own people are doing. He even said he didn't know anything until he saw it on CNN!

Either both he and Nixon were liars...or they are 2 of the most incompetent "leaders" of all time.

After 5 years...it's all still Bush's fault. Even this IRS and DOJ thing is probably Bush and Cheney.

The only thing I'm aware that Obama has done himself is catch Osama Bin Laden.

Everything else...the economy, scandals, losing our credit rating, insurance costs going up, etc. are all caused by Bush and those damn Republicans in Congress.

Nothing is Baby Jesus Obama's fault. If something goes wrong...it's Bush. If something goes right...It's thanks to the wisdom and vast experience of Pres. Obama.

You best understand that...or the IRS will soon put you under extra "scrutiny"

I have an idea.. How about all you Righties that don't want to pay taxes, don't want no govt or no EPA telling you what to do. All you righties that think you should own any fire arm you want.. How about you all move to fucking Iraq or Afghanistan.

It's pretty much your fucking utopia. Quit trying to turn this country into a third world shit hold.. Move to one that's already how you want it.
How's this for scandal?

Most Republicans won't vote for a common sense gun background check because they're in the NRA's pocket in some form or another.

They shot down a treaty to adopt the American Civil Disabilities Act as a worldwide model, because the UN would be involved.

They denied aid to hurricane Sandy victims because it contained "unregulated pork", when most of them asked for aid for their own states.

Many Republican governors enacted strict voter ID laws to keep democrat voters in long lines at the polls.

They're dying to cut Medicare and Social security, if not kill the programs all together.

They recently forced the Pentagon to buy 33 new M1 Abram tanks at $180 million, even when there's already 2,000 that have never been put into service yet -- and the Pentagon said they didn't need them. Who got rich off of that I wonder?

They recently decided to fix the layoff of air traffic controllers that was caused by the sequester -- but only because it would impede their own ability to fly home while congress was in recess.

They hold the economy hostage time after time with budget and debt ceiling talks, trying desperately to make Obama look bad -- even when he meets them halfway.

John Boehner...has anyone ever had a more punchable face?

Don't even get me started on that shitstain John McCain and his butt buddy Lindsey Graham.

There's quite a few religious nuts actually governing our country, who also could be poster children for why our Senators and Congressmen should have to take an IQ test. Name one intelligent thing Michelle Bachman or Scott Brown has EVER said.

Republican party is a fucking joke, and they won't be getting back in the White House. Everyone will remember at election time that they spent 4 years drumming up scandals and targeting the Obama administration instead of coming up with a positive agenda to help our country move forward -- or at least some agenda that doesn't mainly involve cutting rich people taxes as far as they can, even though trickle down economics has been proven empirically not to work. It's not even disputable.

I'm definitely not for giving away big earner's money to everyone else -- but when I look at how those old white dickheads behave on a regular basis there's no way I can identify with them. Bob Dole is probably ashamed of what his party has become.

Honestly good luck with that.. I mean seriously, it's the GOP that thought Sarah Palin was a "good idea". The same GOP whom later thought bat shit crazy Michele Bachmann was a good idea.

If this wasn't enough to show they are morons they team up Mitt Romney with the jack ass Paul Ryan.

I mean they go from really "bad idea" to "bat shit crazy" to "are you fucking kidding me" with their choices for candidates & running mates.

Added to this just look around and see the outright retardism that the GOP spews at any given time. They never learn from their mistakes and keep pushing the same bull shit over and over expecting something new to happen.

It's no wonder they try to steal elections because the majority of America is still smart enough not to vote for them.

Unfortunately they are working at a record pace to dumb down the education system with creationism & un-affordable college costs. Perhaps in 15 or 20 years they will have dumbed down the next generation enough to actually vote for them.

Oh and BTW Bush also used the IRS to target liberal groups..

http://www.salon.com/2013/05/14/when...als/singleton/

humm wonder where the outrage was from the right back then..

The Tea Party started with Ron Pau's supporters in 2007 when he had his big money bomb. There were big marches in lots of major cities. It was hijacked. Sorry American Cancer institute.

Did you read that report? There is no way you read that report if you think Ron Paul started the tea party.. The TP is straight up Big Tobacco trying to push for less govt regulation and less corporate taxes.

Here is a nice pretty picture to make it easy for you.. but if you actually care read the full research paper released by the American Cancer Society.

Wow...the federal govt. is pulling some major shit, and y'all are still falling right into their trap and arguing politics.

You're not even discussing what JUST HAPPENED.

It's hopeless. The govt. has created an environment where they can do pretty much anything and not worry about the citizens at all.

I didn't need to read the article cause I was at the Ron Paul Tea party in LA in 2007. I showed you the proof there are tons of other videos. Sorry it goes against your narrative.

So you wont even look at the report, instead you just know better? I hate to break it to you but Tea Party was in the works long before 2007.

Quote:
CSE, one of the third-party ‘anti-tax’ tobacco industry partners, was a think tank dedicated to free market economics. CSE (which split into AFP and FreedomWorks in 2004) was co-founded in 1984 by David Koch, of Koch Industries, and Richard Fink, former professor of economics at George Mason University, who has worked for Koch Industries since 1990.3 ,51 CSE supported the agendas of the tobacco and other industries, including oil, chemical, pharmaceutical and telecommunications, and was funded by them.52 In 2002, before Tea Party politics were widely discussed in the mainstream media, CSE started its US Tea Party (http://www.usteaparty.com) project, the website of which stated ‘our US Tea Party is a national event, hosted continuously online and open to all Americans who feel our taxes are too high and the tax code is too complicated.’53 Between 1991 and 2002 the tobacco companies, mainly Philip Morris, provided CSE with at least US$5.3 million (see online supplementary table S3). Philip Morris gave CSE US$250 000 annually in the early 1990s to start six state chapters.41
That was the first instance of the big tobacco backed tea party in 91-2002. Several years before your little Ron Paul rallies.

No, it's people like you who ignore what is going on to argue stupid points about a fantasy called politics that is fucked.

You are exactly what the govt. LOVES. A distracted person who doesn't focus on what is happening right now. Politicians don't give a fuck about your conspiracies and political affiliations...all they care about is POWER.

And they are abusing it like crazy before your very eyes. But you're too busy arguing with people you don't even know on a fucking porn message board.

Clear your eyes, forget about politics...Republicans VS Democrats? That's about as "real" as Hulk Hogan VS The Ultimate Warrior.
It's a made up "fight" to keep the citizens divided and arguing (just like you are doing now).

Why aren't you busy googling up what the govt. is doing right now...instead of spending time trying to "prove" some point that doesn't really exist anyway?

Some of you guys are a true carny's dream. A bunch of total "marks" to be "worked".
