Google needs to stop focusing on fucking affiliates in the ass and start focusing on delivering relevant results.

I have always used google for search, however lately I find myself looking to BING!

Predictions:

1. Whitelabels (and things like most hosted tubes) will finally be severely hit. Most won't see this one coming and will be dumbfounded by it.

2. Google will start using IP, server, and whois signals more. Many people will get fucked as it's almost totally unexpected.

3. Nothing much will happen to the tubes or filelockers. At most there won't be as many entries for one of their domains on the same page.

4. The tops brands will become more solidly entrenched on the first page for relevant results more so than ever before.

5. The final nail in the coffin for standard link trading for SEO finally will come. It will be useless or even a big negative.

6. Porn will lose overall. Some sort of algorithmic firewall between porn and mainstream will further emerge. Google will soon be able to predict whether something is adult content not primarily by the actual content but rather by linking relationships. The End Game will eventually be that you will not come up for any non-adult terms once your site is classified as porn. For now the effect will be milder and only impacting some searches and positions (i.e. you might get pushed back a page or two for terms which aren't clearly adult).

7. Lots of pissed off webmasters as usual.

8. It will be rolled out either this Friday or next Friday. Probably next Friday.

Good, I don't care if I run porn sites, I don't want people coming to my site that aren't wanting porn... If someone is looking for breast exam information or something, I don't want them coming to my porn site because I rank for "breasts".

As a user, it's great, and as a webmaster it's even better... Quality > Quantity.

Way too many people are impressed by pure volume of traffic and not by how good that traffic is... I don't know how many times people will talk shit about someone because they're ratios are like 1:50 on low traffic numbers, but think they're awesome because they're doing less or equal amount of sales on 10x as much traffic.

I heard similar predictions (2,5,6) way back in 2003. After 10 years google isnt even able to remove whitelabel sites and you expect them to somehow smarten up?
The things will change but not in this way.
The only thing i expect from new update is a lot of bitching webmasters, but the things will go after some time in same old lines....

Correct, a white label's primary purpose is to add a value-added service to compliment an existing brand, not as a primary revenue source.

Might carry a little extra weight, but too easy to manipulate to be given any serious points.

Already true for queries of significant value.

Does this mean the clone tubes will all die?

Go to xvideos. Copy a video title in to Google search. Notice dozens of clone tubes with duplicate content with come up. All with same template. Just a different header.

It's more that they are trying to destroy affiliates. Maybe destroy is the wrong word. They are simply trying to put affiliate sites at the end of the results. It's their philosophy that affiliates don't contribute new content and do not add any value. On the other hand a site which steals content and makes it available for free offers tremendous value. More so in fact than the producer of the content who is trying to charge for it.

They are only going after porn in the sense that they seem to be seeking to separate the two, porn and non-porn into separate areas. I don't think there is any Google conspiracy to destroy porn other than this and maybe the fact that they think porn piracy is okay. But let's be real. Look around. Almost all the people at the top of our industry openly support piracy now. So why should Google do anything? Because you or I complain? When Manwin and 80% of the top adult players disagree and openly love piracy?! Our industry has been completely taken over by these people and they are perceived as the industry leaders.

Google's MO is, and always be "best user experience." Bing is an annoying nat flying in their face and they need to do what they can to squash it, which means getting rid of junk.

I think most people will be fine, but it's the sites with over and over duplicate content and nothing but ads. Those sites are worthless anyway, and frankly, I'd be happy to see sites like about.com to GTFO.

Face is most affiliates are LAZY and looking to make an easy buck, therefore they don't come up with their own creative text; merely copy and paste onto their affiliate site then spend hours spamming their penis enlargement pumps all over forums and blogs. Same goes for porn, why would you want to search for "tranny midgets getting pissed on by bbws" and see the same video in all 10 results?

A lot of people here will whine because they lost their results, even tho they did very little work to get there in the first place (not to the ones that actually did), but what you do you really expect? Put together a shitty site in 10 minutes, buy some links and think you will be a millionaire?

At the end of the day, if you want to be "good at SEO" then you need to think like Google and always try to stay ahead of the game.

And I'm sure when someone searches for something, say their favorite porn star, and they land on your TGP, they just want to get redirected off to another site that isn't even related to what they wanted right... That's a total relevant result eh?

Think like a user, not like someone who's trying to make money off their sites.

From Matt Cutts video I gathered that they are giving even more value to "authority" sites.

Also, i'm pretty positive they have a team of editors who manually assign authority rank to some websites. I think they also have an internal (hidden) directory of quality websites, similar to what DMOZ used to be.

Google's MO is to nuke indiscriminately a bunch of sites then watch the few blackhatters that got shit-canned tell everyone it's the end of blackhat. They should call it Google Propaganda 2.0 The results are full of junk now and they will be just as full of junk (if not more) after the next update.

One thing people forget about tubes, is that they re-inforce Google's own business model, and the surfer's positive attitude towards that model.

It's a type of behavioral conditioning. Google doesn't own the porn tubes, but it can act as though it does, and benefit from them in an indirect way. Tubes offer the surfer a consistent Google-like experience, even when he's browsing porn and not actually using Google.

Affiliates on the other hand are working to a different strategy, which contrasts with Google's own strategy, and also contrasts with the wider "mission" of Web 2.0 .

Some people might not know that the site is apparently associated with some sort of adware or malware. I went there and clicked around before I got curious and checked Google. Google has the entire first page filled with people asking how to remove Delta Search. I'm on Linux so it's no big deal to me but watch what you do if you go there on windows.

Delta is not malware per se, but its traffic is derived from a very smart use of malware.

Their malware has a very simple redirect everytime the infected pc user types "google" into their browser.

The redirect takes them to a site that looks like google, but delivers bing search results.

In 3 months they have DOUBLE the traffic of pornhub clicking on their ads.

If you do a short term alexa comparison google is losing significant traffic to a search engine that is delievery bing results.

So that is DOUBLE the traffic of pornhub in 3 months.

Someone is making very serious money.

Found this: http://www.haaretz.com/business/at-t...emium-1.518524

From what I understand, a company called Babylon owns delta-search.com and they work for Yahoo now. They use to work for google but things didn't work out so they went with Yahoo.

So is yahoo paying some company to install "malware" in people's PC's to drive more traffic to yahoo/bing results?

I cannot for one minute imagine that yahoo/bing have officially sanctioned this. It would be commercial and legal suicide.

More likely is the real peeps behind this are quite happy to let others take the heat whilst they are banking their retirement fund.

This is the cutest most elegant scam I have ever seen and it is good to see google getting some of it's own for once.

Unsurprisingly it seems to go over everyone's head on this board. I suppose that is to be expected.

You know I'm actually kind of looking forward to this. It's an opportunity to get your old penalized sites back in because you know Penguin is going to be re-run soon so everything will need to be re-indexed. Now is the time to fix shit up because the next one could be many months away or maybe even next year.

I was off by a day in the timing. So far it looks far weaker than expected but I guess it's not done yet.
