Namecheap VPS. Anyone from here using them?
Anyone use them? care to share a link to a site hosted there?

Thinking about setting up a new Wordpress farm, but need to try a new host for this project.

Do any of you use their reseller or VPS plans? would you care to share a link? I will sign up under you, if you provide me with a example of a site you host on their server.

I started using Digital Ocean (in my sig) for new projects, and it's pretty awesome. Don't let the $5 price fool you they haven't let me down yet... I use amerinoc as well, which has been rock solid. Oh, and OVH for dedicated servers.

There's really nothing much on it yet it's a newer project, just starting a wordpress blog with all pornstar names I can find. I have to work on adding sponsors content next.

The ping time is just below 200ms from Europe, but the load time is really fine. Looks good so far.

Want to compare it with a namecheap vps, before I deside, but I will sign up under you

NameCheap don't allow adult on shared hosting - I doubt they will on VPS either - Digital Ocean are great...

was the MySQL local on the VPS, or in a separate central serverfarm, as some do?

I assume it was on the local machine, but I don't know for sure. I connected to mySQL through localhost, but they could have some creative stuff going on redirecting it to another box. Queries were pretty quick even on 100 million records and 6 Gigabyte DB. About 1 min 30 seconds searching a non-indexed table. Now I have it down to milliseconds all indexed in 32 GB ram on a dedicated box at ovh... love VPS machines for getting things up and going though, quick and easy to re-install the OS many times if you mess it up.
