A police state is a country that doesn't allow Europeans to visit many times?

It wasn't so long ago that the TSA's own numbers showed they only caught 50% of contraband in tests. What do you think their percentages are for motivated individuals and not a test scenario?

It makes me sick to see people lining up to proclaim how this is necessary when it's not even effective. And that's from the TSA itself.

What a sad state of affairs.

You're joking right? Here in Czech Republic by law you can't even move more than 200 meters past your flat without having your government issued ID on you. You're also fined if you refuse to fill out the government sanctioned census they have every few years. Getting a driving license or any other type of permit requires you to go through mind-numbing Kafka-esque bureaucracy with shit attitudes all along the way.

Don't be fooled into thinking you're any more "free" here just because you can spark up a joint in a bar and not be tackled to the floor by a policeman.

Is it true that mail order brides are huge in Russia because the women want to leave Russia for a "better life" and have been known to kill themselves if the relationship they had been bought for fails because they feel that have failed their families?

This is all something I read about on Reddit from a Russian Mail Order Bride AMA.

"Contraband".

Translation: Pot or cocaine.

I think they've found a handful of guns in people's luggage and a pocket knife or two.

Never found anybody with a bomb or anything serious. They are definitely on a drug hunt that should be unconstitutional.

So true.

I love having some intellectual giant working for minimum wage stand over me at the airport to search me or test my clothing for traces of drugs.

However one tip with regards to avoiding the above, completely IGNORE them, do not make eye contact, pretend you are busy doing absolutlely ANYTHING and they will move on to the next victim. Works 9 times out of 10.

Didn't say they were good at it.

And if you are traveling with pot on you on an airline these days...you are a brave man.

The TSA should be abolished in my opinion.
They haven't found ONE bomb or stopped ONE "terrorist".

And check out how many TSA "Agents" get busted stealing shit from people flying (don't even think about having ANY valuables in your luggage):

good news on the usa police state:::

a kinder friendly tsa!

You can now carry on small snow globes, as long as they are put in those plastic bags along with your other small bottles of liquids.

Snow globes smaller than a tennis ball are now OK to bring onboard a plane, and, by the way, so are pies and fruitcakes. But not jars of jam or jelly or cranberry sauce over 3.4 ounces. They must be put in your checked luggage.

i keed, i'm with you robbie. the tsa is pretty useless and allows for individuals to invade other's rights.

I told this story a couple of years ago in a thread...
In March of 2011 we flew to New York (Claudia Marie had a feature show at a club there).

And right here in Vegas at the airport is where we were flying out of. I'm wearing black sweat pants and a t-shirt. And of course I'm "commando" (no underwear) and a pair of flip-flops.
I dress like that to fly because it's such a hassle to take your shoes off and your belt and your coat...So I no longer dress nicely to take a flight.

Anyway...they pull me and tell me that they are going to have to search me.

Two guys take me in a room and did so. Guy put his hand right down my pants and felt up my cock and balls and ass.
I'm trying to contain my temper, so I cut some jokes about "How much do I owe you", etc.
The guys were friendly (hell, they gave me a handjob lol) and laughing.

When it was all over I quipped: "That's not where I keep the cocaine!"
And the TSA guy looked right back at me and told me that was exactly what they are looking for!

I told the story to a buddy of mine who is a TSA Agent, and he told me that they are definitely on the lookout for drugs. It's a feather in their cap everytime they nail somebody for drugs.

And yeah, I know drugs are illegal (hopefully pot won't be much longer at least), but before 9-11 this would have been considered an invasion of privacy.

Now, it's standard operating procedure.

Hell, it's been 12 years now. There are millions of people that weren't adults back then and have only flown on airplanes SINCE 9-11.

To them this whole thing is just fine and dandy and the "way it is".

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has issued a travel warning to Muslim airline passengers on U.S. aircraft in response to the Transportation Safety Administration?s "enhanced pat down" policy that went into effect in late October.

CAIR said Muslims who object to full-body scans for religious reasons should know their rights if they are required to undergo a pat-down, including asking for the procedure to be done in a private place. In addition, CAIR offered a ?special recommendation? for Muslim women who wear a hijab, telling them they should tell the TSA officer that they may be searched only around the head and neck.

In the ?special recommendations for Muslim women who wear hijab,? it states: ?Before you are patted down, you should remind the TSA officer that they are only supposed to pat down the area in question, in this scenario, your head and neck. They SHOULD NOT subject you to a full-body or partial-body pat-down.?

Here is the TSA's own blog bragging about all the stuff they did in 2011:

http://blog.tsa.gov/2012/01/tsa-top-...s-of-2011.html

Not very impressive in my opinion. How many BILLIONS are we spending on this invasion of our privacy?

In February, the Figh Council of North America, a group of Islamic scholars, issued a fatwa, or religious ruling, that full-body scanners violate Islamic law.

“It is a violation of clear Islamic teaching that men or women be seen naked by other men and women,” the ruling states. “Islam highly emphasizes haya (modesty) and considers it part of the faith. The Qu’ran has commanded the believers, both men and women, to cover their private parts.”

Lets go all the way and hang cameras in people's houses. "I'm fine with it because that's the price we pay for being free". Right? Add in a "I don't mind, I've got nothing to hide" remark for good measure too. Everyone who has this mentality fails to understand the extreme importance of privacy, which is freedom.

I didn't think about no smoking, i thought it was allowed there so i lighted up a cigarette. 2 guys who apparently were some sort of civilian dressed cops/security or something, jumped up, marched to the table military style, and snatched the cigarette aggressively like a couple of crazy retards, all in a time span of 5 seconds. I was baffled. Wtf is up with that? They reacted like a pulled the pin out of a hand grenade. Is this normal there?

When you hear about something, try to think about it critically. If somebody (say a young woman) want to go to the States, why the hell she will be do it so in stupid and long way as "bride agency"? She can simple apply for a 3-year US visa ($160 only), wait for a week or two and go there whenever she want? I believe it wouldn't be so easy for Russians to get the US visa, if there will be a lot of illegal immigrants from here

You're right, the internet does work the same way in both countries. That means you have access to Wikipedia's list of countries by intentional homicide rate. I can't link to it, but just look it up. Russia has a rate of 10.2 homicides per 100,000 vs the US' rate of 4.8.

The police here don't stop real crime so they do this to make themselves seem relevant.

They really should just ban smoking inside in CZ already like the rest of Europe. Although I guess it's a bit difficult to do so considering Philip Morris has half of the CZ senate on payroll...

So what? Do we speak about people killed by police or about unemployed alcoholics killing each other with a kitchen knife at their own apartments while drinking hootch (over 70% of all homicide cases in Russia)?

P.S. As about the homicide rate. Seems you don't know that a part of Russia (Muslim North Caucasus) is actually at anti-terror war (Chechnya, Ingushetia, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria) where people gets killed left and right. Does Wikipedia told you that any war does dramatically increase the total homicide rate for a country?

Indeed. Where's the cavity search? As a result of her unwillingness to cooperate they really should have invaded her innards.

Police state my ass!
