I have a mental block when it comes to tube sites

How does one make money with clips that sponsors offer for use on tube sites? Maybe I am just looking at the wrong sponsors but they are all watermarked with the main site's url. So.....how? Wouldn't the surfer just go to the site directly and leave me out in the cold?

Am I missing something totally obvious here? (Likely lol)

Build tube sites with embed codes, start getting traffic from google and then sell ad spaces, popunders or traffic, just forgot about sponsors and sales.

We still have plenty of tube site webmasters making money with our watermarked clips. But on a simpler level you could just as easily build blog sites with those. At the end of the day you have to market your product, and if you can't compete with a watermark there is something wrong with your marketing technique.

No need to own videos, that is problem for tube site, I just hotlink their images and use embed codes. There is also automated titles changes for SEO. Very little links building and new domain for 20 days go to 2K daily traffic from google.

I have been embedding the videos on my own blogs & doing well with that. This was a thought I had while on Redtube, but I guess the people making money from a tube site like that are the content owners, not the affiliates. Maybe I didn't word it clearly. After all I am just a stupid noob.

A newfie! Right on Welcome to the mix! (NB'er here)

The thing is, you need to get permission from the paysite owners to use their member video to cut into tube clips. The ones that sponsors provide are merely for your own tubes, really.

I typically cut our videos between 10 and 13 minutes now for uploading but for affiliates, we provide the 4 min clips.

Former US Senator Ted Stevens referred to the Internet as "a series of tubes" -- how oddly prophetic that was to become ... :pathetic

No. You're absolutely right and smarter than the average adult affiliate who is around today. A certain percentage do exactly as you state. I believe it's somewhere between 10% and 30% but I haven't found a credible study and even then it probably depends on factors such as how memorable or short the domain name is and how prominent the watermark is versus the affiliate links.

But even with that somewhere between 70 to 90% still opt to click your link instead and that is where you can make money. Assuming the tracking is correct and the sponsor isn't shaving, that is.
