Anyone who's watched The Wire knows it sure as hell needs to top this list,followed closely by Sopranos.

I just started watching The Wire and i'm 3 episodes in. When does it start to get good? It's too much "TV" right now if that makes any sense.

It is essentially a novel. So, at that stage they are introducing you to characters. There is a moment for most Wire fans where it clicks and then you are hooked.
