yeah, was a low move. Although I disagree with Richard 99% of the time, I thought he was above a cheap shot like that. And it's also kinda funny that the 'hey aren't you the meth guy' makes more sense than the ct guy

the dude is arguing to one person about how there is no warrants, and another about how there is warrants.

which makes me recall the fact he is admitting on a public adult message board about all the under the counter drugs burned and smoked

actually it's become somewhat of a pattern for several talkers here. attack the people who think different, admit to drug use, violence, hatred, etc

so, defending a meth head to score what points exactly?

here richard, i'll answer your question first, it doesn't really matter to me.

the patriot act was signed in 2001, and allows for judges to issue warrants for searches.

Quote:
The Act allowed any district court judge in the United States to issue such surveillance orders[35] and search warrants for terrorism investigations.[37] Search warrants were also expanded, with the Act amending Title III of the Stored Communications Access Act to allow the FBI to gain access to stored voicemail through a search warrant, rather than through the more stringent wiretap laws.[38]
nisa is a typo i made. the correct acronym is fisa, it was an act signed into law in 2006 and allowed for warrantless searches

Quote:
On March 16, 2006, Senators Mike DeWine (R-OH), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Chuck Hagel (R-NE), and Olympia Snowe (R-ME) introduced the Terrorist Surveillance Act of 2006 (S.2455),[29][30] under which the President would be given certain additional limited statutory authority to conduct electronic surveillance of suspected terrorists in the United States subject to enhanced Congressional oversight. Also on March 16, 2006, Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) introduced the National Security Surveillance Act of 2006 (S. 2453),[31][32] which would amend FISA to grant retroactive amnesty[33] for warrantless surveillance conducted under presidential authority and provide FISA court (FISC) jurisdiction to review, authorize, and oversight "electronic surveillance programs". On May 24, 2006, Senator Specter and Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) introduced the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Improvement and Enhancement Act of 2006 (S. 3001) asserting FISA as the exclusive means to conduct foreign intelligence surveillance.

richard, the meth head has answered your question.

richard, the meth head has answered your question.
FISA was created in 1978. The Patriot Act changed FISA to include both non-us citizens, and US citizens.

However, since you literally arguing both ends, i no longer care

um, do you even remember your original position richard?

here, i will refresh your memory.

you said the patriot act allowed for warrantless bullshit.

i said that is incorrect.

you then went ballistic calling me a dope fiend and going off on tangents about nisa when in fact nisa was a typo and you had no idea (again) what you are arguing.

yet, i am the dope fiend.

AT&T engineer: NSA built secret rooms in our facilities
Apr 12 2006 - by Nate Anderson

Mark Klein, an AT&T engineer and witness in the EFF's case against the company …

The EFF's case against AT&T has barely begun, yet it has already brought to light some fascinating details about the methods behind the NSA's alleged wiretapping abilities. Mark Klein, a retired AT&T engineer who is now participating in the case as a witness, has released a statement to the media in which he outlines many of the allegations that are currently under seal. Chief among them is his claim that AT&T installed powerful traffic monitoring equipment in a "secret room" in their San Francisco switching office at the behest of the NSA.

"In 2002, when I was working in an AT&T office in San Francisco, the site manager told me to expect a visit from a National Security Agency agent, who was to interview a management-level technician for a special job. The agent came, and by chance I met him and directed him to the appropriate people.

In January 2003, I, along with others, toured the AT&T central office on Folsom Street in San Francisco—actually three floors of an SBC building. There I saw a new room being built adjacent to the 4ESS switch room where the public's phone calls are routed. I learned that the person whom the NSA interviewed for the secret job was the person working to install equipment in this room. The regular technician work force was not allowed in the room."

According to Klein, this room contained (among other things) a Narus STA 6400 traffic analyzer into which all of AT&T's Internet and phone traffic was routed; Klein himself helped wire the splitter box that made this possible. In addition to AT&T's own traffic, Klein alleges that the company also routed its peering links into the splitter, meaning that any traffic that passed through AT&T's own network could be scanned. Futhermore, San Francisco wasn't the only place such secret rooms were built; Klein claims that AT&T offices in Seattle, San Jose, Los Angeles, and San Diego also have them.

Now back to the future

DID YOU KNOW?: Two Secretive Israeli Companies Reportedly Bugged The US Telecommunications Grid For The NSA
Jun. 7, 2013 - Michael Kelley

exerpted:

The newest information regarding the NSA domestic spying scandal raises an important question: If America's tech giants didn't 'participate knowingly' in the dragnet of electronic communication, how does the NSA get all of their data?

One theory: the NSA hired two secretive Israeli companies to wiretap the U.S. telecommunications network.

In April 2012 Wired's James Bamford — author of the book "The Shadow Factory: The NSA from 9/11 to the Eavesdropping on America" — reported that two companies with extensive links to Israel's intelligence service provided hardware and software the U.S. telecommunications network for the National Security Agency (NSA).

Klein, an engineer, discovered the "secret room" at AT&T central office in San Francisco, through which the NSA actively "*vacuumed up Internet and phone-call data from ordinary Americans with the cooperation of AT&T" through the wiretapping rooms, emphasizing that "much of the data sent through AT&T to the NSA was purely domestic."
____

NSA whistleblower Thomas Drake corroborated Klein's assertions, testifying that while the NSA is using Israeli-made NARUS hardware to "seize and save all personal electronic communications."

Both Verint and Narus were founded in Israel in the 1990s. Both provide monitoring and intercept capabilities to service providers and government organizations, promoting claims that their equipment can access and retain large amounts of information on a vast number of targets.

Tech Companies Concede to Surveillance Program

"SAN FRANCISCO — When government officials came to Silicon Valley to demand easier ways for the world’s largest Internet companies to turn over user data as part of a secret surveillance program, the companies bristled. In the end, though, many cooperated at least a bit. "
....

" The companies that negotiated with the government include Google, which owns YouTube; Microsoft, which owns Hotmail and Skype; Yahoo; Facebook; AOL; Apple; and Paltalk, according to one of the people briefed on the discussions. The companies were legally required to share the data under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. People briefed on the discussions spoke on the condition of anonymity because they are prohibited by law from discussing the content of FISA requests or even acknowledging their existence.

In at least two cases, at Google and Facebook, one of the plans discussed was to build separate, secure portals, like a digital version of the secure physical rooms that have long existed for classified information, in some instances on company servers. Through these online rooms, the government would request data, companies would deposit it and the government would retrieve it, people briefed on the discussions said. "

"But instead of adding a back door to their servers, the companies were essentially asked to erect a locked mailbox and give the government the key, people briefed on the negotiations said. Facebook, for instance, built such a system for requesting and sharing the information, they said. "

What is this? We (GFY) are the World? I was generalizing the government tapping into the backbone for surveilance puposes. I followed the EFF case back when and may or may not have made reference to it in the past here. This particular software's (PRISM) name itself is new to me as it is everyone else. As far as my other claims about Google and Facebook I'm sure you can find me saying it in many threads but I'm not bothering to look.

_Richard_ using an Ad Hominem attack to try and discredit someone.

Wonder where I've that term used before? Conspiracy theorists and religious zealots fucking love the words Ad Honimem as some kind of defense, yet don't mind using them themselves.

The real question should be, what are you doing or what are you going to do about changing it? You can debate as long as you want on an internet forum, will it ever get you anywhere? Will it change anything? If the answer to those 2 questions is no, then click the top right corner of this window, fuck off and do something about it.

Can you imagine if Ghandi and Martin Luther King had sat behind a fucking keyboard just randomly typing shit, on a porn forum of all places what would have happened?

Wonder where I've that term used before? Conspiracy theorists and religious zealots fucking love the words Ad Honimem as some kind of defense, yet don't mind using them themselves.

The real question should be, what are you doing or what are you going to do about changing it? You can debate as long as you want on an internet forum, will it ever get you anywhere? Will it change anything? If the answer to those 2 questions is no, then click the top right corner of this window, fuck off and do something about it.

ahh, so now it's unacceptable? at least we have clarified that.

My apologies, dynastoned, that i feel your arguments supporting both warrant and warrantless surveillance made me connect this to your admission of the use of crystal meth. My experience is once this is used, it's permanent, and this is from every single encounter i have had with users.

AT&T engineer: NSA built secret rooms in our facilities
Apr 12 2006 - by Nate Anderson

Mark Klein, an AT&T engineer and witness in the EFF's case against the company ?

In January 2003, I, along with others, toured the AT&T central office on Folsom Street in San Francisco?actually three floors of an SBC building.

In April 2012 Wired's James Bamford ? author of the book "The Shadow Factory: The NSA from 9/11 to the Eavesdropping on America" ? reported that two companies with extensive links to Israel's intelligence service provided hardware and software the U.S. telecommunications network for the National Security Agency (NSA).

This doesn't surprise me at all.

In the 1990s I worked for Pac Bell, the local phone company in California. Our office was one of the switching stations for the area. The FBI were at our office most days. They pretty much had a desk set up in the switching room.

apology accepted.

i can only imagine how you must feel, being intellectually dominated and tossed about in a debate by someone with lingering effects from drug use.

it;'s funny i wasn't admitting using drugs, i was sharing that.

in fact, in that post, i recalled it as a short term experience in my life with a girl i knew, we broke up and i walked away.

good times.

what's truly bizarre is how you are flipping around my comment about having a good time with the girl and the drug and being able to walk away from it into some sort of admission.

so it makes me wonder if everything is ok there?

p.s. dynastoned is another gfy poster.

No, the most amusing part is that us sane ones have accepted there's been the ability to snoop into every part of our daily lives for years, and that where this thread shows the level of it, the ct nutjobs instead use it as some kind of 'proof' that aliens, overlords, illuminati, and so on *are* all real, by saying 'see, we told you so!'

It's fucking mindblowing (as has already been stated) that the fruitloops cannot distinguish between snooping, and aliens, nor the fact that most of us can believe 1 thing (like this thread, and be 'shocked' for want of a better word at the level of it) but not have to pay any mind to the absurd levels that most of the ct lunatics spew out.
