Just back from Superman

It was good. Not as good as I thought it was be (based on the trailers), but it is by far my favorite Superman movie to date. Action packed, loads of destruction. The ending was a little lame, but everything else was good. It's a long movie so make sure you pee beforehand.

The new soundtrack was great. Not using the traditional Superman theme was a bold move but the new one is epic.

I'm sure you will get one, but I was bummed to see how they ended it. That was one of the great things I liked about the new one was he wasn't a nerdy reporter. They are also doing the Justice League, so for sure there will be more of him along with Batman and others.

I headed to the midnight showing here in PDC last night, and then ended up sitting in the movie theater waiting for 45 minutes for them to finally get around to explaining to us that they couldn't put the show on because the film version they had was not subtitled properly (I live in Mexico) and so they couldn't put it on without the subtitles. Talk about frustration, I wish they'd just put the damn thing on WITHOUT the subtitles, I wouldn't have minded...!

I'm gonna head to Cancun to watch it this weekend in 4DX instead, since the local theater wasted my time

Saw it last night, thought it was a great movie but I agree with you on the ending. The action was really good although maybe they went overboard with the destruction, that would be my only complaint about it. Overall I'm hoping they do give us a trilogy, the effects were exactly how I imagined, loved when he was starting to fly, really cool.

When I lived in Costa Rica, un-subtitled movies were not even an option You got to choose between spanish dubbed and spanish subtitles.

How do you like Mexico? What is the draw for you there? Which part to you live in?

My old lady and I were strongly considering spending a year or so there, but then people started getting shot so we considered the Southern tip of Baja California and then people got shot there too... Fucking drug smugglers!

Do they still show a clip of the King before the movie - and make you stand while it's being played? Haven't been to Bangkok in a while, but I remember great movie theatres there.

that how we have it here - either Czech dubbed or Czech subtitles...

so i just saw the movie - too much destruction and not enough humor for me

I really liked The Avengers and the Iron Man movies, but this one is too much.

i loved it. Best superman movie EVER. better than the original and the 2010 version. And don't expect Superman to talk like Tony Starks. Cuz he aint tony for those who got brainwashed by watching too many iron man movies.

All i can say is its better than iron man 3 where some 4 year old kid helped tony beat the bad guys

A supposed to be adult going to see a "Superman" movie...is amusing to me. At what level is your maturation?

I'm tired of the lame criticism I keep hearing in reviews (and people I know) that they got tired of seeing people getting punched through buildings. If those scenes were shorter, they would have complained there weren't enough people getting punched through buildings.

I thought it was a little sloppy in the editing and storytelling, but I loved it overall. The fight in Smallville kicked so much ass and will be one of my favorite scene for a while.

I thought it was a good movie but definitely not as good as I hoped for after watching the trailers. There was definitely a fresh feel to it, but something about Henry Cavill just put me off a bit. I thought the kid that played the young Clark did a great job of making you feel for his character, but Henry Cavill came off a bit wooden to me. I did end up seeing it in 3D, which makes it hard for me to focus on the story and acting, so maybe I just need to see it again in 2D...

I'm a bad person to ask about that because 3D always gives me a headache, but I did notice a lot of the action scenes didn't jump out at me like they did in The Avengers, which was the last movie I saw in 3D. I usually try and avoid 3D but I read the times wrong on Fandango yesterday and ended up having to see the 3D version...

I didn't like it. The Superman looked stupid and most of the movie was some kids looking for Pirate treasure.
