Post-it notes? Spreadsheet? Saved in browser? If you're like me you've got more than a handful of passwords. Well I've had so much on my mind lately I can't remember all of my passwords. Is there some amazing program that can help me out or a special webmaster tool that can manage all my passwords for me? Please do tell.

Nothing makes me feel dumber than forgetting a password. I keep a hand written list in my gun safe.

I have an algorithm I use for passwords. Makes it easy to remember and make up new secure passwords.

It generates passwords for me and then syncs between all computers I'm on.

I can even share my login ABILITY with another lastpass user, so they are able to login with my account but they never get to see the password. Great for allowing temporary access to a site or account. Then I remove them from the share and they are unable to log back in.

I am a techie. I use lastpass. It is pretty awesome.

On a side note. If I had a nickel for every time I caught an accountant or other financially employed individual at places I've worked at using post it notes for their password "hidden" beneath their keyboard or posted right on their monitor I'd be rich.

Keypassx on linux love it easy to use. they do have a windows version havemt used it thou. Still have password corral on my windows machine.Will be changing over to Keypassx soon enough.

Multiple MYSql databases on double encrypted containers, spreadsheets and LastPass.
(Yes I have that many logins to keep track of - around 10,000 and growing)

Apart from having them saved on docs on my computers, i always keep hand written notes in a drawer on a notepad...

To all of you who use those programs like roboform, laspass and so on - what if once day they will go down? Fir this reason I keep my passes on paper (a bit "encrypted" as well).

Also not sure if Lpink was joking, but I would keep one duplicate paper in the safe if I had one as well

If their server is down it still works, it 'saves' a copy for local use as well. Not sure how it works exactly, but it works offline.

Yes, but what if your PC crashes and you lose everything?

I can not trust any of these systems 100%. Plus what if someone hacks your account? Or rogue employee?

Maybe for least important passwords, but I would not trust vital passwords to 3d party.

Define "going down".Hard drive failure or something else?As they store passes on hard drive so that cant going down.

It is stored in the cloud, if my PC crashes I don't lose anything.
Those services have 100,000s if not millions of customers, they have 100s of servers they won't go down.

All the passwords are stored encrypted with a unique 'master password'. If the service would get hacked they would only have your encrypted passwords, they would still need your master password.
Also I have multi factor authentication enabled, so even if someone would somehow know my master password they would not be able to login, because they'd need a code from the code app on my (encrypted) phone, so they'd have to hack that one as well.
