Another program closing down bastabucks

Just got this email from bastabucks. Didn't promote them too much but still gotta pull links.

We regret to have to inform you that BastaBucks (Harsh Handjobs) has reached a point where the costs are higher then the profits. Because of this we have decided to take the site offline as of september 18,2013 We hope this date will give our affiliates enough time to remove the links Kind regards The BastaBucks Team

I simply don't understand how any program can have costs that outweigh their profits.

Its bad business management if they do.

If a program is spending more than they are making its because the people who own it are idiots, especially a revshare based program.

Cut back on the amount of content you update, lower hosting costs by getting a cheaper plan (many hosting companies will match or better the price for new clients than what they already have), lower payouts, reduce staff, there are so many options available to program owners when it comes to reducing their financial burdens that will still allow them to keep their sites open.

Unless you have debts way above your head as a program owner, there is absolutely no reason to close a revshare based program down period other than mis-management by the owner.

Exactly my point.

If they cant break even on revshare.. WTF are are they doing wrong?

After the initial investment into a business, you don't throw more $$$ at it until it starts making its own revenue streams.

That is one of the major problems when it comes to paysite owners in this business, they keep shooting, shooting, shooting, shooting thinking it will make them more money... There comes a point where every paysite needs to stop with the new content shoots to monetize the content they already have.

If you get 30 new members a month with 1 new shoot update every week and those members retain on average for lets say 3 months, the site only really needs to have a maximum of 30 exclusive shoots until such a time where retention grows above 3 months.

They can just keep cycling through their 30 shoots every week making it so that the first shoot they launched with, becomes latest update for the first week in month 4.

Totally agree. We been going 10 years now and there would have to be some kind of major disaster before we would even consider shutting down our affiliate program.

The profits FAR outweigh the costs and bear in mind that we also pay our webmodels a percentage ASWELL as our affiliates

Relying on the affiliate model with no in house traffic usually.

There is a cost in your time too as well as other fixed costs. I think it's safe to say that most paysites are experiencing declines over the last few years.

I just typed Harsh Handjobs into Google and the #1 result is an Xvideos search page with 3500 videos. The actual paysite is at #2. All the other results on the front page are all tubes like Pornhub and Youporn.

I was an affiliate of the program and I sent a little bit of traffic. I appreciate Pornopat at least giving a decent amount of notice. Good luck in the future.

Well hello another big boy! This one even is a paysite owner itself so I think I can look forward to a HUGE offer right? No more webmodels to pay so that would make it even better for you...

Absolutely.

Ill give you $500 for your site, content and domain names.

That's a whole $500 more than your business is currently worth as you're just shutting everything down.

Let me know if you want to sign a contract and I can get the $$$ to you within a few hours of signing.

Props for having the balls to launch a start up paysite / aff program from the ground, I sure know how tough this is.

And props for doing the right thing and notifying all affiliates soon enough, wouldn't expect otherwise.

Wishing all the best in the future!

There's a REAL problem that's particular to UK porn, it's matured, it's crap, the models are pale, tattooed, flat chested wannabes with no work ethic whatsoever, it's been dead for the last 4 years, now the rebills are drying up programs are shutting down. Steer clear of the UK. Only one site worth promoting and that's Killergram

Porn on public access WIFIS is going to be blocked in the UK, asshole Pete Johnson of ATVOD is trying to stop UK customers paying for porn sites based overseas. You really need to be discounting the UK now. There's a new DCMS bill due this summer that will kill off the likes of Adultwork and all the other fake aggregators like TAC.

What about "tubevixens" ass wipe ? When you come up with an original brand or idea or shoot your own content or actually do anything at all that would have any impact in the real world or in fact the adult world then do let us know. Until then continue to bathe in circle jerk, affiliate, bullshit spam
