I was just about to post the same thing.

P.S. Porn.com & XXX.com were two of the first domains I distinctly remember typing into my browser when I first got online in 98 lmao.

Hell yeah, porn.com or xxx.com are worth way more then sex.com unless you want 8year olds and non english speakers typing in your domain...

He must be making serious bank. He doesn't pay for hosting the videos. He's just embedding them.

He is embedding videos from xvideos.com which belongs to them also so yes, they are making serious bank and they do have a big hosting bill.

They acquired freeporn.com not long ago and set up a similar page but it links to xvideos.com instead.

The have a lot of very good domains but instead of developing them, they just either make a doorway page for xvideos.com or xnxx.com.

They can always develop those two sites later on or even sell them to down the road because as everyone has said they are good names. You really can't go wrong with them in your portfolio no matter what they are used for right now.

It makes more sense to develop them as their own standalone sites right off the bat, diversifying and the ability to try new things alone are worth it. In my opinion it is much better, long term, to build your properties up, you never know when one might start to drop off.

I remember back in the day when I first heard of the "internet" I was at school in the library, and don't ask me why or how, but I opened cmd.exe and typed "porn.com" saw text come up and panicked.

That was my first experience with the internet and porn. :D

lol!

In my communication tech class in grade nine, there was a TV in the classroom that was hooked up to a computer so I set it to one of the porn sites I owned back then and left it

I used to do the same thing at computer stores, libraries etc with both adult and mainstream sites. I used to set all the homepages on all the computers at Future Shop, Best Buy etc to one of my sites.

How is no follow more natural?
Usually (naturally) people adding links do not go though the trouble to add no follow, so I would say no follow is more unnatural-try hard.

Nothing wrong with doorway pages, just not for the sole purpose of transferring link juice. Also without the nofollow tag Google could flag it as a paid link with intent to manipulate rankings.

That is a great domain, it not only gathers adult traffic but also a lot of misc mixed traffic as it can be used as an example in various cases like example.com, yourdomain.com etc.

Just wanted to add that all SEO work is pretty much based on best guesses. Nobody outside Google's walls will know the secret formula, and on top of that it's constantly changing.

As far as Google is concerned there is no such thing as "white hat" SEO. Anything you do to manipulate rankings is black hat in the real world.

Gotta get that secret formula!!

why do they publish guidelines and have google webmaster tools?

Are you saying that creating a page title is considered blackhat?

As long as its relevant to the page, no. A page title alone is not going to give you a top ranking without all other factors taken into account.

Any form of link building is considered manipulative by Google and will get you penalized if you get caught.

The way G sees it is, if you have quality content, people will share it.

"Avoid the following techniques:

Automatically generated content

Participating in link schemes

Cloaking

Sneaky redirects

Hidden text or links

Doorway pages

Scraped content

Participating in affiliate programs without adding sufficient value

Loading pages with irrelevant keywords

Creating pages with malicious behavior, such as phishing or installing viruses, trojans, or other badware

Abusing rich snippets markup

Sending automated queries to Google

Engage in good practices like the following:

Monitoring your site for hacking and removing hacked content as soon as it appears

Preventing and removing user-generated spam on your site"

The only SEO you need is to build a site you as a visitor would enjoy visiting multiple times a day.
