It's really clever. As you put the guitar on it, the weight of the guitar moves the little tab bits up to lock it in place. I've got 5 of them and they are great.

Hey Minte, Do you advertise in in-flight airline magazines? Pretty sure I saw your ad. That design was straight out of 2002!

I came up empty looking for one of the pawn fenders like the one you got so I ordered one of these. I've never owned one with a fully scalloped neck. It should be here tomorrow or Monday.
it's the Yngwie Malmsteen Strat.

Those are the best you can get. I just got one for my Jackson Roswell and it works great.
I am converting to them exclusively.

I wouldn't be surprised if we did., we have a lot of sales rep groups that market products we make.

i'm reading up on this guitar, wow, right. those seymour duncan pickups look interesting, i looked into those when i was researching mine. oh, btw, i didn't realize in the other thread, i didn't say the model of mine, it's the pawn shop '72.

anhoo, that neck on the strat you purchased is crazy. i have the dunlap frets too, but the 6105 series, i think, and the c-shape and lacquer. it's super slick but i am not sure if mine has the nitro-cellulose lacquer that your's has.

what style of music do you play? will you be running this through your mustang III?

Minte, also, your yngwie strat is strung with Super Bullets 3250L

mine has the USA Super 250L which i instantly liked a lot but i am wondering about those super bullets, are you familiar with those already?

I like wall hooks as well. You can't really see it in this picture but I also put a red felt covered board at the bottom to prevent the guitars from hitting the wall. I don't have the fancy locks tho and my many acoustics sit on regular floor stands in my music room

Yes I have a set of those on my Jeff Beck Strat. They feel very different while they are breaking in. They are harder to bend to a note, but when you get the note they are way easier to hold it and longer. I imagine Carlos uses those on his PRS

Mostly I play jazz, Rippingtons,Hardcastle, larry Carlton..Marion Meadows, etc but I still sit in with a local blues band from time to time. I know a lot of Trower stuff from back in the day when I played in rock bands, some Eric Johnson,,a lot of zep.

But my heart is in playing fusion jazz.

yes, it's amazing! it's like a brand-new 50 year old amplifier, smelling those tubes warm up brings back memories from growing up and my pops warming up his amplifier(s).

the sound is crazy too, the distortion on this paper speaker makes me lol, the speaker doesn't sound like it's about to blow, the entire amp sounds like it's about to explode!

still going through pedals now, haven't made a decision, i am running the fender through my computer and rocksmith which has a modeling amp included so i can get the tones i need at a reasonable volume. it's all a blast!

btw, the big E string on my fender has become slightly jangly, i figure i need to take it to the luthier and get sorted out, should i wait longer for the wood to acclimate to my local climate?

That didn't suck! and I would wait a bit for the guitar to fully acclimate before you have it worked on. And toss on a new set of strings.

I have too many of them. Approaching 30. Every night when I practice I make certain to play a different one. I think if I had to answer. I would say my Les Paul R7 Goldtop, The EJ Strat, and the Ibanez JEM 7V are my three favorites. I record practices a lot and I always like the way I sound on those 3.
