redoing a blog want to hide old posts

I have this old blog and I want to redo it in a whole new direction. It gets traffic from the old posts and was wondering if there was a way to keep them but not show up anymore on the new design. Don't want to lose what little traffic they bring in or is it better to just get rid of them all? any ideas?

I've had my web tech code something like what you are inquiring about. This applied to old blogs I've purchased and I didn't want the old blog posts to display. But the old posts have to be put into a separate category that is only accessible if someone clicks on that category. They are no longer accessible in the blog history when scrolling thru older posts. I'm not sure if this excludes them from the Archives (I don't use Archives), but this could be probably be coded as well. Also, you can copy&paste the old blog titles or copy & paste some of the text of the old posts into google, if google can't find them, they are probably never going to be indexed and could most likely be deleted without repercussion.

You could use .htaccess to redirect the old posts to new ones
Code:
Redirect 301 /old-post http://www.mydomain.com/new-post
Or you could try one of the wordpress plugins that do it

Best solution, imho. Unless you are going to wipe out and start fresh.

Using 301 redirects is what you need. Just redirect the URL's of your old posts to an offer or the new site.
