So google revoked the penalty on my sites, should i put back plugrush?

After a long waiting for almost a month, finally google considered my 3 big sites yesterday (what a nice new year gift from google)

I taken out the plugrush widget when I resubmit a request to google and now I tempted to put it back, should I put it back?

I wouldn't touch plugrush with a barge pole but your sites your decision. One thing you could do is put it back on one of the 3 and see what happens for a month or so. Try other things on the other sites.

If you dead set on doing it, do it on just one (1) of them and see what happens. Just don't be surprised if it gets de-indexed again and if they don't want to index it again

Okay, will try one site.

But on the other side, can't plugrush do something so their mobile redirect will google friendly?

so you used it on your three big sites... google penalized you for it... you had to wait a month to get them back (during which time i am sure you were pissed off you had lost all your traffic)... then got a great new years gift of google re-indexing your sites... and the first thought that goes through your mind is to put it right back on your sites????

i guess if that is the only method you have to earn from your sites you have nothing to lose, but seems pretty easy to figure out they will catch you again, and you will once again find yourself fighting to get listed again

Google doesn't like when people redirect traffic. A mobile redirect is still a redirect

So you know I faced the same "Sneaky Redirect" penalty on most of my sites and they were all deindexed, I had a few Plugrush iframes, pop under and the JS mobile redirect.

I just removed the mobile redirect include and replaced it with some htaccess code to redirect mobile traffic BUT I made sure to include googlebot-mobile in the user-agents so Google's mobile bot is redirected like all mobile traffic...

Most of my penalty have been revoked so far, the ones that are not, its simply because they haven't answered back on it yet.

Yes that could be reason why other brokers was not hit-since most of them uses servel level redirect,so then everything goes redirected including google bot.

A mobile redirect that also redirects googlebot wont negatively affect seo/serps or result in google deindexing? Are we sure about this? I dont understand why google would say that is acceptable.

You can find post related to Google and Plugrush in the Google forum, and I saw a few replies from Google admin dudes saying that the fact that users get redirected for mobile traffic and not their googlebot-mobile it is considered a "Sneaky Redirect" by them.

For the mobile ranking I don't think it will affect it since I was already redirecting mobile traffic so i suppose i wasn't ranking well anyway...

Did a lot of reading on the issue before doing so, found a couple of blogs too where SEO dudes said that googlebot-mobile should be redirected too on a htaccess level before the sites even loads up...

It will as official guideline says how it is not just enough to have mobile version of your site,it also need to match same page where it was entered, for example if user load gfy.com/bla.html with mobile, then it need to load m.gfy.com/bla.html ,not just m.gfy.com.And when it comes to those who were not deindexed yet, reason was that how they were not spotted under google radar yet, especially if this require manual view and there is thousands and thousands potential offenders.

You remind me of an experiment to determine in part, how much conscious control rats had over their decision making. Turns out... almost none.

They put a mechanism to give the rat food with a mechanism to shock the rat when it tries to get food there as well. So the rat was stuck running back and forth until it was exhausted.... operating on two very primitive brain programs "get food" and "avoid threats".... leaving the rat running towards food.. stopping... then running away from a threat... stopping once the "get food" program took over, running back towards food and on and on it goes.

That is you.

Exactly you.

I've got one site that google is being really nice to for some reason... Page one and two on most keyword and phrase searches, with a steady stream of traffic rolling in because of it and the site is only a month old today. 2.49 visits per visitor.

I'm afraid to change a thing about it with the way I've heard google has been treating the adult genre lately.

use your brain guy! god is upset with you for wasting it right now.

the redirect is NOT google friendly period!!!! its not about how its written or that plugrush owns it, none of the other providers scripts are google friendly either. its not the code they hate, its the action.

its about google indexing one thing, showing that in the serp, getting the user interested in that page for you, and then you(like a jackass) show them something completely different. different domain, content, etc. coupled with the fact that its probably random based on who is bidding highest at plugrush, which just multiples the issue.

google has warned you once, i dont think they play nice the second time, considering they told you whats wrong and you are going to put it back up, essentially asking for their help and traffic and then spitting on them.

its really really simple stuff, google gives you rules. if you want googles traffic, you play by their rules.

It took almost a month, but I was able to get the "sneaky redirect" manual action revoked on one of my blogs where:

1) I had a PlugRush widget that never used mobile redirects; and
2) I *retained* that PlugRush widget while Google reconsidered.

My site is back in the index and I'm still using Plugrush to trade traffic with plugs.

Details: here

What about you put back plugrush as an experiment, then depending if you got penalty again or not, we will know definitely what's up with that. We will thank you a lot for taking the risk

So we still dont know for sure if having the plugrush widget, not the mobile redirect but just the widget will make google deindex the site or not?
And secondly how about the juicyads mobile redirect? Are they a no no as well?

If Plugrush made you the most money, put it back and take the risk. If your sites get banned, then start over and try again.

No pain. No gain.

Well, we have one data point (mine) suggesting that it will make Google mistakenly deindex the site.
