While I do get a small amount of satisfaction when the US flexes it's military might, there are times when military action is called for and times when it is completely improper. Military action should be the last resort, long after diplomacy has failed.

You can try to compare US actions in the past to what's currently happening with Ukraine, but at the very least US has "remotely valid" reasons and usually UN support. With Russia invading Ukraine, there was no remotely valid reason, no diplomacy, and the only threat to Russian speaking citizens of Ukraine is the fact that Russia has invaded Ukraine.

Russia in fact does not have the right to protect "Russian speaking people" in any way, shape, or form. If this was the case Russia would have a reason to invade Poland or any of the former Soviet Block countries, and might also give Mexico the right to invade California, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas to protect "Spanish speaking people".

I don't know. I don't trust CNN or RT news channels - they just follow their strategy. Remember Cuba? US didn't like USSR missiles on island 80 miles away from Florida. They put a big pressure/efforts to make USSR leave Cuba. Why do you believe Putin will allow NATO troops/bases near his borders? Why do you think he has to play by rules? I think he believes he can get away with that.

There was never a threat to Russian speaking citizens.

The President of Ukraine was legally removed from office by his government due to the mishandling of protests, in which a number of citizens died. These were not Russian speaking citizens and in fact just the opposite - people of the Euromaidan, a movement in Ukraine of people who want to bring the country closer to Europe.

Even if there was any kind of threat to Russian speaking citizens, Russia still has NO RIGHT to invade another country. They are not Russian citizens, they are Ukrainian citizens and have been since long before I was born.

Afghanistan was somewhat justifiable at first as Bin Laden had just attacked the USA and killed over 3k people.

Iraq was total bullshit with the main excuses (Saddam's involvement with al Qaeda and WMD) total lies and propaganda cooked up by Bush/Cheney/Rumsfield/etc to settle scores and fatten the wallets of their corporate cronies. It's a travesty that it ever happened.

Libya was totally stupid too, I still do not quite understand the rationale (it was mostly the EU, not the USA actually) for interfering there.

Syria, well no one actually invaded Syria so I'm not sure what it's doing on that pic.

My point is, it was wrong then and it's wrong now. The hypocrisy goes two ways - both sides get all worked up when the other does it, and justifies their actions when they do (including buying into obvious propaganda pumped out by their respective govts). It's a petty tribal mentality and unfortunately the cause of much misery in the world.
