I grind the coffee beans just before making the coffee, if that's hardcore enough.

Although I try to limit my coffee intake, especially if I am going to some meeting, so I am more calm and less jumpy. Applies to everywhere, I have read the same tip from hunting magazine regarding hunting.

I get the first one of those coffee makers (the glas), I have seen professionals use those, but the espresso maker looks like total crap, at least for making espresso. Espresso requires great pressure and you can't have that with some hand movable stuff.

Such a heavy coffee-drinker, that I'm now switching to a guarana-substitute, that makes me even more restless ;-)

doesn't matter if you grind the beans if they are commercially roasted.. you'll need to find a place that does custom roasting to really experience the difference in varieties of coffee beans... .. in the states this place will ship to you... http://www.thecoffeeroaster.net/

I use the express maker like a French Press... works okay

The difference is actually quite great regarding when the beans are grinded, as it's just a matter of hours that the grinded beans lose the "edge". Same with pepper and for similar spices. That's why there is pepper mills. The flavonoids vaporize into air without protective shell (well, vaporize more or less anyway, but it takes much longer).

I ground my beans with a burr grinder every morning and then use a french press. Make sure to stir the grounds. Fantastic.

There is still very noticeable difference even with hard roasted beans, just try. Or just buy readily grinded beans, smell those after opening new package and then a day later and you will see the difference, and the difference is greater as more time passes.

I looked at the aeropress, I still plan on getting it one of these days. What I decided to go with was the clever coffee drip, the reason being I can stir a minute or 2 into the immersion process. - http://www.amazon.com/Coffee-Shrub-C.../dp/B0047W70GY

All my beans are grinded pre cup via a Porlex Grinder - http://www.amazon.com/Porlex-JP-30-S...porlex+grinder

Right now my favorite coffee beans come from DogWood Coffee, I have the roasting days marked so I can go get the beans same day and they do small batch. - http://www.dogwoodcoffee.com/

http://www.sweetmarias.com/store/ is a great place to go if you are interested in doing your own roasting. My buddy roasts his own and I get beans from him as well.

I wouldn't consider myself hardcore but I do love a tasty cup of coffee

3 cups of coffee hardcore? I get that much within 1-2 hours after waking up. Or if I am going to meeting it would be just 2 cups. Daily intake is right now 4 cups of coffee. My coffee intake is quite upfront regarding the daily hours.

I have thought hardcore to start from 5-10 daily coffee cups.

French press is the best. It retains the oils and flavor the best IMHO.

I have a Rancilio Silvia espresso machine, and a Mazzer mini grinder. Both about 8 years old now, and thinking of upgrading the grinder to a Macap m4, and not sure about what espresso machine yet. I'm fortunate to have a ton of great local cafes who import and roast their own beans. Also have a variety of green beans and roast them myself sometimes.

Drinking an Americano right now made from some beans I just grabbed while I was in Edmonton from this place: http://www.transcendcoffee.ca - getting an amazing flavour from them.

Even though I am on the road, I carry with me a moka pot and bean grinder. I prefer to drink a triple espresso with milk in the comfort of my apartment. I get a checkup every two years and the doctors are amazed that the coffee doesn't effect me.

Effect how? Coffee is associated for healt benefits more than negative issues, if your coffee drinking stays at reasonable levels. Although there are mixed results for the benefits, but at least it is safe to drink reasonable amounts of coffee.

What kind of doctors do you meet?

Normal espresso equals to half coffee cup, double equals one coffee cup, so triple espresso is not that much.

I try not to overdo it, but each morning I generally grind beans from http://www.intelligentsiacoffee.com and have espresso iced with almond or soy milk over a lot of ice. Because I love a lot of ice, I'm usually drinking my fancy coffee out of ad repurposed Slurpee cup or similar.
