Smart anti piracy move

The uk are replacing ads on piracy sites with warnings. Removing the revenue from the piracy sites.

Pretty smart move and may stop some kids and newbie/amateur pirates. I like the disruption tactic.n

It will never work.

You wont stop piracy.

You are better off spending your resources elsewhere.

Why bother.

A) it has already worked, reducing ads by 12%
B) it's not begging for donations from the advertisers so no end user resources are being used up
C) well done for trying, but her not very good at this, are you? Maybe if you were man enough to put your real name or the company you work for in your sig you wouldn't try to be such a hard man? Still at itelebill?

So what you're saying now is that disruption is a good idea ?

This contradicts his statements against you when you made an arrangement made with plugrush.

While you remain steadfast and tenacious, Damian still can't figure out in his mind what is effective... because he's not on the front and therefore has no clue what is effective.

Seem that piracy can never be avoided, at least in the Asia, it is very regrettable. Each person can only protect themselves.

This is beginning to happen in many places throughout the world.

There is no silver bullet - it takes many different approaches to tackle these issues.

They started blocking the piratebay here in Holland at ISP level but the ISPs stopped doing so already. Now the government made it illigal to download copyrighted content.

Not sure what the best step is though

Dame baby !

Real men now is it ?

Surely you are not going to go down the tough guy route ! Not sure that you have the necessary bollocks for that game. In fact I know you dont.

So you berate on guy for using the exact same tactic (going after the money), yet you applaud the police for doing the same thing.

One guy tries to do it using voluntary donations from actual content producers, the other party spends your taxes.

So ante natal units or anti piracy campaigns ?

Where would you rather the resource was directed ?

When it works, yes.

The lot got a 12% reduction in those ads.

That's impressive.

And the tech solution they are using is very cheap and easy to do. Pretty clever.

Not at all. Just pointing out you are a coward with a fake name and without itelebill in your sig. Assuming it is still them you work for.

Been doing that in the uk for years. Totally achieved nothing. You'll never stop piracy, 10tb is uploaded to usenet daily for nothing, no profit. What might be possible is to harm the people that profit from piracy. And when someone publicly posts the stats of what they've actually achieved I applaud it.

Yep, that's right. The another approach here is a domain confiscation from the piracy site owners. E.g.: torrents.ru and nnm.ru.

We've brought the number of file lockers down from in the thousands to less than 620, yet you keep bagging our efforts.

We shut down an average of 120 pirate blogs a week and weekly disable dozens of piracy Facebook / Twitter / VK and other social media accounts, yet you keep bagging our efforts.

Most recently we've been part of the pressure placed on UltraMegaBit so much so that they have changed domains and are desperately trying to gain new merchant accounts - yet you continue to bag us.

We've shut down thousands of piracy related sites and yes you continue to bag us.

You have an agenda, it's obvious to any fair minded person who's followed your rants in the Stop File Lockers thread.

So, why do you think the MPAA, RIAA, and software companies aren't banging your door down to work with you. You claim you've achieved something on a very, very small budget they have failed to achieve after decades and billions of dollars...

Seems odd doncha think?

This has been explained to you many times, but I'll explain it again.

We have a collaboration system backend in which stakeholders participate. You are not a part of that system so you have no idea who we work with or what communication we have with any organisation.

All you know is what I post to GFY, which is a fraction of what we do.

You're on the outside Damian, you're not a stakeholder and you are certainly not qualified to talk about who we collaborate with and how we undertake our operations.

So Dame - are you going to carry on ignoring the point I made, and trying to deflect with your keyboard warrior flannel ?

You are wrong here. We know that several larger USENET providers pay uploaders to upload to popular piracy newsgroups.

We are targeting several USENET providers in much the same way as file lockers.

USENET is not what it once was, several high profile USENET providers and retailers provide sophisticated desktop software for downloading , this is often built on the back of piracy.

FileFactory have recently started a USENET service.

Sorry kiddo, was busy with my new baby.

You know too many details about the stag, about what clarky drinks etc. so you probably work at Cellcast, or one of their telco providers.

That's not important though. The important part is you are too scared to post who you really are. Speaks volumes about the kind of man (and I use the word loosely) you are.

It's awfully easy to be a tough guy when you are hiding, isn't it?

Interesting change for you, you used to constantly say you were only ever targeting file lockers. The clue was in the name. Now I see you are saying you are after torrents and usenet.

Gonna change the name of the business?

That doesn't even slightly explain why the mpaa and riaa aren't sucking you off for your ability to aledgedly do what they have failed to do.

Or are you trying to insinuate they are now working with you?

Lolsome.

Stop File Lockers is one project, nobody has ever said that further projects wouldn't come with time.

Nice Try. It's been explained to you over and over again. You're on the outside, you know only what we choose to post publicly. We don't discuss who we work with, when and why.
