Clinton favorability hits 7-year low
Today, 41 percent of Americans say she is honest and trustworthy, compared with 52 percent who say she is not ? a 22-point swing in the past year.

No shock to me. The republican contenders are starting to line up. They aren't going to waste much time going after Obama since he is leaving office. They are going to go after Hillary who will likely be the democratic nominee.

Hillary will win, Dynamo. Fantasize about Bush or Cruz or Trump or Pailin all you want, but Hillary will win.

American politics is all about marketing.
With the Internet, we can now make any kind of accusation and then make it stick. This is what they are doing to Hillary. The Republican party keeps talking about Benghazi yet no one did anything wrong. Then there is the email issue - They keep trying to make it up like she didn't turn over her emails but she did, it's the state department is isn't releasing them fully yet. Sorry, this shit needs to be vetted. Doesn't matter - The Republican party will keep asking questions and making accusations as if she is guilty and thus she will look guilty. It's just like 9/11 and how the towers came down. In the absence of facts you can make something up. They don't need proof of anything, all they need to do is make an accusation. "The towers came down just like controlled explosions", ignoring that it would have taken hundreds of people weeks to wire that kind of shit up. But the truth isn't important; All you need to do is cast doubt. It's all marketing. Chevron gasoline has Techron, and it's better for your car. Yet ironically there is only one gas pipeline supplying gas to all of Phoenix, including Chevron. That's right, all of your gas comes form the same exact source. The rest is all marketing. Keep in mind I am not for Hillary. Depending on your view, she is either a life long politician or a politician's wife that was prepped for this exact moment since Bill left office - either of which could be bad. But frankly the bullshit floating around is pretty silly. The Republican goal plan here is simple - As many as people as possible to run for President and have them all pick at Hillary, and then whom ever comes on top gets to run. The goal is to bash the Democratic front runner until they have a front runner themselves.

Nobody cares yet... No poll at this point has any significance to the outcome.

I don't vote really. The last time I voted I voted Republican for Bush. I've discovered that what happens at the national level has very little impact on me personally. Taxes go up, taxes go down, and healthcare goes up no matter what. The stuff that affects us happens at the city, county, and state levels.

I don't like her either. She's smarter than every Republican running combined, but so shady. I'd go for Bernie Sanders if he was more toward the center. There's a lot of liberals who don't think the rich should be taxed at 90% like he wants. It's just more revenue for the government to waste.

It's not that: I think Hillary Clinton will win because so far, she appears to be the smartest of the bunch, and the most likeable. Then again, have you been paying attention to Bernie Sanders lately? Wow... really smart guy too. I don't know if he can beat Hillary but he just became a lot more interesting. Now lets look at the Republican side. Jeb Bush is probably the smartest and most likeable, but, he reminds everyone of his idiot brother, and he's surrounding himself with the same advisors that his idiot brother had. He has already collected millions of dollars yet he is polling low. (And he's already bending some laws to suit himself - nice start, Jeb) Chris Christie? Nope. Too fat, too much of a bully, and way too corrupt. He sucked up to President Obama during the crisis then trashed him after that. Ben Carson? Ted Cruz? Mike Huckabee? All idiots - won't even get close. Marco Rubio? Not even trending. Rick Santorum? Smart guy maybe, but way too Jesus-Freaky for a modern America now. Carly Fiorina? No way. She's just an ex-HP CEO who thinks she can be president. She has less experience than Sarah Palin. Your best bet for a Republican president Dynamo, is probably Rand Paul. I don't agree with everything he says but out of all of them he seems like the most level headed and smartest guy of the bunch. If he want head to head in debates with Hillary I'm pretty sure he could do well.

Does "experience" mean being a politician all your life and playing that game? Does it mean being a governor of a state with a proven track record of being in the executive branch? I'm not sure that "experience" is something that really exists for a job that you can only hold one time for 8 years. And I voted for Pres. Obama in 2008 when he had ZERO "experience" that qualified him to be President. Turns out that he wasn't that good at it after all in my opinion. lol But it still didn't disqualify him in my mind from being President (or the minds of the majority). I think we need a President with even LESS "experience" than even Obama. There is NO "experience" for being President. What we need is a LEADER with a focused vision and the courage to follow his vision. And he needs something else that Pres. Obama does not have: The ability to convince and sway votes in Congress (both Reagan and Clinton had that important gift...maybe from their own experience as governors?) |

and while Relentless points out polls don't count for much right now, the fact is when the likeability poll will count, it's not going to be a reversal of what it currently reveals, and that is Hills has a serious likeability problem. and again as i've mentioned, the 2 people i am most interesting in becoming president are elizabeth warren and jim webb, both dems. |

i'm with you, the concern, as i understand it, with him is the republitards could easily make his age an issue and he can easily be portrayed as a liberal looney. those are big targets that translate nicely into mudslinging opportunities.

Jeb Bush? All I know about him is he was governor of Florida and brother of a President that nearly destroyed our country. Nothing favorable there. The rest of them are just names I've heard of but know nothing of their track record. Bernie Sanders? I have no idea who that is.

Yeah, they'll throw around the "socialist" word and drive it into the ground he's a bleeding heart commie and that will play well in the red states. There is already a twist on his "90% tax proposal" which is on marginal tax, but the average facebook chicken little will make it seem like he's after everyone for that rate.

If you want to handicap races, decipher who is or isn't lying to you and identify why, it definitely helps to see things from the other side of the table. If 90% of Americans spent twenty hours at a campaign headquarters stuffing mail, answering phones, door knocking and cold calling.... It would be a lot harder for any politician, pundit or party to whitewash facts or distort them with nonsense. I really do encourage everyone, especially young people to get their hands dirty and engage in the process. You'll see how flawed it is, and how little any of these people are 'worried' about what the vast majority of people think. Masses don't win elections. Cue givers win elections, and they care only about their own agenda. The polls are a broken compass until there is enough money being spent to create a political North Pole for the needle to find it. ![]() |

Bernie Sanders, hmmmm, will the AA voters choose him over Clinton? I wonder. If you've ever worked in a campaign, you know that AA churches are huge influencers and turnout engines. The pastors, preachers, reverends, bishops, and what have you preach week after week about which candidate will represent the AA interest best. I wonder whether they will stump for Bernie, or Martin, or Lincoln, or Hillary?
North Carolina, 38% of primary democrat voters identify as AA Virginia, 33% of primary democrat voters identify as AA Maryland, 37% of primary democrat voters identify as AA Just a few states but it demonstrates that no candidate can win without at least some support among the AA voters. Women voters make up over half in each state as well, averaging 55%. Hillary did very well in those groups, do you think that will change? Will women vote for Bernie, or Martin, or Lincoln, or Hillary? Perhaps very young people, who make up between 9 - 14% of the primary voters, might vote for Martin, or Bernie, or Lincoln. Perhaps not. Maybe white males? Hillary only averaged 45 - 48% with them. Maybe they'll go for Bernie, Martin, or Lincoln? Only time will tell. |

I'll second this. Having worked on getting a new provincial premiere elected back in the late 90's I can say with utter certainty that political campaigns look very different from behind the scenes.
