Jack Ma (ALI BABA): If you're still poor at 35, you deserve it

http://vulcanpost.com/7702/jack-ma-y...or-35-deserve/

Quote:
Jack Ma: People lose out in life because of these 4 reasons:

Being myopic to opportunity
Looking down on opportunities
Lacking understanding
Failing to act quickly enough
You are poor, because you have no ambition.

Ambition is living a life of great ideals; a magnificent goal in life that must be realised.

In this world, there are things that are deemed unfathomable, but there is nothing in this world that cannot be done. The depth of one?s ambition determines the potential of one? future.
You guys agree?

Is there only one definition for success? What if you're a poet or an artist or you just want to be a great parent to your kids?

For the most part I agree. If you can't build a solid income by the time you are 35 you are doing something wrong, assuming building income is your goal. There are stipulation though, like say you had something go wrong along the way like medical bills or maybe even failing at a business.

However by that age assuming you are physically capable, you should have developed the skills and knowledge to pull your self out of a bad spot with in a reasonable amount of time. Sorry to say if you are 35 years old and working as a manager of a fast food joint or something like that.. Well you took a wrong turn..

I know I've had a business fail before and ate Ramon noodles before and still was capable of bringing my self back with out help from others. Just my gained knowledge, determination and hard work.

that depends on what he is defining as successful. i make a living but i don't think i am successful until i no longer have to worry about money. its so easy for the jack ma's of the world to say, i did it and if you can't you're a failure but its not that simple at all and only shows ignorance.

lol. most successful people became successful at age 40 or over. Notwithstanding the internet opportunity that is obviously an anomaly, historically speaking.

So crockett as usual is ass backwards with the facts.

Well u can't define yourself with other people knowledges or perspectives. But one thing is found in every successful person is that they have 1. Dream 2. They Pursue 3. They Take Risks, Get Beaten Too Many Times. 4. Still standing and feeling more excited every single day Passion.

Doesn't matter if u had dream of being a franchise manager or building a billion dollar business, big and small dream u still need one and work your ass off, when u archive something u feel good and probably thats how u define success. But I assume what he meant isn't going after a billions dollar dream but rather believe in yourself and dont let others let you down so easy, prove them wrong by doing something you enjoy and have fun and probably it will benefit a vast group of people. Its basically a never ending hobby, then the money will come, its infinite amount you could make if approaching your goals this way.

He assumes everyone wants to build a brand. Some are happy to raise their children and take a vacation or two a year. Without them being happy with that he'd be broke.

My wife and I are friends with someone who was a room mate years ago. When we lived together twenty years ago she looked down at me and told me I was a failure. I found it funny at the time being as my main job paid me twice as much as she was making, and I had a second job.

We are now both 45 years old (okay, I am 46) and she just bought herself her first car. Her and her daughter live in a room they rent from a person who has six thousand cats.

I don't feel sorry for her. I just don't.
