So the last 2 days I've been jumping around from one news source to the other watching the events in Ferguson and I saw this:

CNN : Good overall coverage.

MSNBC : Very personal coverage.

Fox News with Shep Smith : Impressive coverage. Not just the hardware on that Star Ship Bridge: Just pretty good coverage.

Fox News with Sean Hannity: Hate, hate, hate. He completely hates Brown and the brown family. He thinks the cop was completely justified in shooting and talks as if the Brown family is out of control.

CNN is just stirring things up hoping for ratings/ad revenue.

What has really amazed me is not one black person on any of the channels except Fox has admitted Brown could have avoided being shot by simply not breaking the law in the first place. Not one person feels Brown is at fault in any way. Amazing.

Something I found very interesting last night on AC360, Cooper had Sunny Hostin, Mark Omeara and Jeffrey Toobin all on splitscreen and it was fascinating to watch how the 2 white guys were saying that after looking at all the evidence presented to the grand jury they thought that although the prosecutor would probably been able to get an indictment had he gone the normal route of presenting it to the grand jury he would have definitely lost at trial and Wilson would have been acquitted.

You could see Hostin, the black woman ex-federal prosecutor, was getting angrier and angrier at them for saying that, she was ignoring all the evidence and fixating on tiny inconsistent details like she was a defense attorney defending Michael Brown, you could see that her mind had been made up from the beginning that Wilson was a murderer and that his trial and conviction would have been inevitable with a different prosecutor.

It was a fascinating example of how this story is breaking down along racial lines, if you're black then Brown was an innocent victim of a obviously racist, blood-thirsty white cop and if you're not black then maybe there is some room for doubt.

By the way what is "pretty good coverage" according to OP? Leaning towards anti cop and anti white tendencies? LOL.
Even 50/50 would not be good because it was not 50/50 situation, but a situation where cop had way more justification than thug. So "pretty good coverage" is the one that reflects that.

This is one of those stories that will really polarize people I think. Of course Brown had just robbed a store and maybe the cop felt scared and threatened. But if you're the family, it's just got to be excruciating. Imagine how they feel. Their sun was shot multiple times, then left in the street for 4 hours, then hauled away in the back of an SUV (no ambulance), then the cop gets off... all this in a town with an all-white police department....


I don't know if he's right or wrong... I was just noticing the amount of "hate" he seems to have. The video I posted is just one example - he seemed to be someone who was trying to defend himself by jabbing and prodding anyone who didn't agree with him. His face seemed more annoyed than I've seen in the past.. It was the first time I had watched his show in a while and I found how he was acting to be really interesting.

How could anyone, except you of course, expect to form an opinion from multiple sides without at least sampling those multiple sides?


Because unlike you, I happen to care. I care about people, animals, and the environment. You care about yourself, yourself and yourself, and how good you make yourself feel by trashing others in a public forum from the confines of your moms basement. Good for you big fella... maybe try contributing to a thread instead of drive-by trolling it. Think you can do that big man?


Or maybe thats not how the story breaks down, but instead its how the news presents the story? MSNBC's Maddow and Hayes present it as a person / personal / family issue, while Sharpton presents it is more of a black injustice issue. Fox's Hannity and another person who's name I forget seem to present it as "There' goes another black person bitching and moaning".



No. I was saying that on the Shep Smith show on Fox, the coverage was impressive. They had multiple cameras in multiple cities and Shep was running around from one giant video wall to the next showing what was going on. He did it all without personal commentary or opinion too. I hate Fox News but Shep's reporting of it seemed interesting.

It was Sean Hannity, who has always been an asshat, reporting I was commenting on.

I don't know anything about Brown. I wasn't there to see the events. I was not a witness. I don't know anything about the cop or cops. I don't know anything about Ferguson. But then again, I wasn't talking about any of that.

Maybe... but we could at least say that they "present" what is going on. Each news channel slants things their own way too perhaps, but in my opinion, Sean Hannity way seems to be the most hateful.

All this happened quickly in the same short period of time but Brown is innocent. Sure.

I GUARANTEE you, if I walk up to a cop sitting in a car, repeatedly punch him in the face, go for his gun which any cop will instinctively have pulled out by now, have shots fired in the car, back off from the cop car, then charge the cop, I'm getting shot dead. What's so hard to understand here?

edit: Unless of course the cop was black, then he shot me because I'm white not because of what I did to start this mess.

Well, a lot of people don't believe he was punched in the face repeatedly and other witnesses say the guy had his hands up.

You believe one account of what happened and that alone does not mean you got the truth.

Some eye witness accounts were clearly not accepted by the grand jury or he would be charged.

Not sure if you have, or will read all the testimony and statements presented to the Grand Jury, but here is an AP article highlighting the issues with most of the "vocal media witnesses" etc and their conflicting statements, and credibility.

Grand jury documents rife with inconsistencies

That compares to about 7 witnesses that never appeared to the media, who gave accounts more or less in line with Officer Wilson's account, and what the forensics show.

I suggest people take the time to read through the full grand jury testimony, as its quite fascinating, but I do understand its a lot of reading and does take a long time to do so.

Thus is the problem . Because some people simply will not read the Grand jury testimony and will not weigh the crime scene evidence with the testimony of the officer and Dorian Johnson . Those are the 2 best witnesses to what happened and once you read their testimonies it is pretty easy to see what happened and why the grand jury decided as they did .
