We signed up because we need to see what they offering and will it suit or traffic or not. If you got straight traffic and sending to Gay sponsor, it wont make sense....

These days, honestly? It's usually because I saw some nice content somewhere and I want the right to use it on one of my sites. It's so rare to make an affiliate sale these days that I'm only rarely motivated by much hope in that department.

My top factors are:
if it looks legit, if the quality is excellent AND isn't oversaturated (this usually is where most programs fail) if it looks updated offers a variety of updated webmaster tools & payment options for members other considerations: is the site responsive? would I myself pay for a membership?

if they have new sites, that means they are alive and working on progress, so looking forward for longer run. also quality of content, good gui of sites for surfers, and of course depends on who runs the site ...

site must look professional unless its amateur niche.
tos content quality and frequency of update % rev-share minimum payout not using NATS (no disrespect to nats ) using IPSP for affiliate payments.
