Pretty sure ebay would let the buyer refund that with ease.

It's the buyer who needs the help. The seller is no better, he is taking advantage of people's ignorance for profit.

The buyer got scammed. It's an obvious scam because the seller is INTENTIONALLY misleading the buyer. It's like when new over-hyped consoles come out and people sell just the boxes and mislead people into thinking they're getting the actual console. Sure somewhere in the auction the truth is stated but it's still a scam because the entire purpose of the auction is to deceive a victim into thinking he's getting something that he's not.

Hopefully he gets his money back and ebay bans the scammer. You think you're clever because you spotted the scam and the buyer didn't?

Look on the positive side. That $3,000+ profit is going to feed the entire village for a month.

I've seen these domains for sale on ebay before but they never ended in the 1000s. They usually sell for under $100.

I feel bad for the poor bastard that bought the domain name. The seller probably withdrew the money from their paypal account and the buyer will probably get screwed when they open up a paypal dispute.

paypal holding money on ebay sales

Quote:
How much crap do you have to sell on ebay before paypal stops putting a 21 day hold on your money? I've got almost 300 feedback all positive, but have only sold a handful of items. All the rest has been from me purchasing things.

This 21 day hold is annoying as fuck. Seems like they release the funds a little earlier once you get positive feedback but that still means you have to wait over a week for the item to arrive at the destination.

that's just crazy, and I bet the guy still has trouble getting refunded by paypal. I got fooled about 15 years ago with some .ws domains, the company was advertising them heavy as the alternative to .com, .net, and .org...the next domain .ws "World Site" for the world. Make a long story short I did not even ask for my money back when I found out it was a country extension. I took the loss as a lesson that I should have researched more, I use the same theory trading stocks. If I lose money I am paying tuition to learn from my mistakes.

Geez, that listing seems even worse, especially with the huge image of G.com

I think the guy is out of luck. From what I understand, folks with paypal accounts from India have the money moved to their bank account automatically. This is what I heard from the warriorforum a way back.
