What did you think of the NFL games?

I was torn on NE/Ravens. I don't like NE, but like Baltimore even less.

I didn't imagine that Carolina had much of a chance at Seattle, but would have liked to have seen that upset.

Dallas/GB...I'm a die-hard 'Boys fan, so that was a bitter pill. There were missed opportunities though, and if we were on top of our game, it would have never come down to one call.

Indy/Denver - I live in a sea of Colts fans, most of which are very obnoxious, so I am always against the Colts. I think Peyton Manning is a class act. I hated to see the way this one ended. It will be interesting to see if he comes back.

Not 1 team I wanted to win this weekend did. It was tough to watch. If I had to pick a team to cheer for at this point it would be the Colts.

Going into the weekend I had wanted Denver to go all the way.

Agree the Cowboys were robbed. That was an amazing effort to hold the ball.

Surprised that the Colts won so easily against the Broncos, but good on them. I want them to go all the way now.

I don't like this remote play overruled from "New York" shit.

That being said, when you make an incredible catch, take 3 steps while in solid possession of the ball, dive for the goal line with the ball outstretched but have the play nullified because you didn't make a "football" move ..... I'm a Packer fan and I thought he got fucked.

I think that one confused Harbaugh.

Without getting into specific calls, overall, I don't think that the "all star" grouping of refs is ideal.

I am sure plenty of teams would be happy to have a DONE Manning over the likes of Cutler/Fitzpatrick/Andersone/McCown/INSERT SHIT QB HERE.

Here is the exact reason why he won't retire and will come back for one more season:
Peyton Manning of Denver Broncos played with a torn right quad for the last month of the season - ESPN

The only team left with a dependable defense is Seattle.
Neither NFC team has a dependable running game.
Green Bay has an injured QB

I'd pick the Seahawks to win it again.

of course plenty of teams would give manning a try, have you seen the guys teams are willing to try? there's about 12 guys that can play NFL level QB, the rest struggle.

that has nothing to do with the fact manning is done.

neither does specific injuries, he actually had injuries to both quads.

nevertheless, he's done, he had a great career.

If the Bronco's offensive coordinator takes a head coaching job elsewhere Manning might not want to return and go thru the whole learning process with a new guy. He might just say fuck it.

Cowboys werent screwed over, you can argue the rule is absurd and I would agree with you. What I did find odd was them going for it on fourth and 2 and not giving it to Murray or a short dump off to sure handed Witten with 4:30 left in the 4th quarter... Nope, were on the 40 and lets throw a jump back shoulder to Bryant instead.

Re: Manning's injury, isn't that in direct violation of the NFL's injury reporting rules?

I'd like to hear more about the intentional deception. These rules were enacted to prevent gamblers from getting inside information that could influence betting and are taken pretty seriously.

"Broncos doctors knew about the injury, and Manning did what he could to intentionally conceal the injury from as many people as he could, sources said. Manning had been listed on the team's injury reports as having an injured thigh."

.

I am amazed that with 252 Division 1 schools (according to Wikipedia) churning out QB's year after year that almost none of them develop into competent NFL quarterbacks. There are like dyna mo said, maybe 12 in the league who are good to great - the rest are mediocre to terrible. I just don't get it. It hurts the league, the rules have progressively changed to favor offensive football meanwhile 2/3's of the league really can't compete for a championship because without a good QB it's impossible. The NFL has always set itself up to produce parity among the teams with a salary cap, revenue sharing but it's meaningless because of the QB issue.

Peyton Manning is still better than 3/4's of the QB's in the NFL but he's not going to win a Super Bowel, he only won ONE is his long Hall of Fame career, his playoff record is not good. I'm sure it bothers him, even with his fame and wealth. Those elite guys have tremendous pride - Peyton knows that for the rest of his life post-football when the 'who's the greatest QB of all time?' debates are waged in the media, in bars, in offices and family rooms the argument against him will always be his post-season record.

I'd take him in a heartbeat but I'm a Buffalo Bills fan, we are the best example of what the dearth in QB talent does to franchises - since Jim Kelly which is a generation ago we've probably had 20 quarterbacks, some of them 1st round picks, all have sucked and it's 15 seasons since we last even made the playoffs.

He's not done.
he;s the last guy to play football for teh moneys.

since my done comment led to some confusion, I'll rephrase- done means he peaked. He's notthe peyton manning of the past 17 years. done doesn't mean leaving the denver broncos without a qb next year. and him playing next year doesn't mean he's not done. Listen to his comments after the game. he's lost a step, confidence, etc. whatever. done.

Eating Thanksgiving dinner, looking across the table at little brother Eli wearing 2 Super Bowl rings is what will hurt Peyton the most, lol.

Re-Pete...

Go Hawks!

Not sure Rogers has one more great game in him due to the injuries this season but if anyone can perform a miracle it would be him.

Still, he has to play the 12 up here too and that isn't going to be a walk in Volunteer Park...

Goodbye Dallas. Not sad to see you go. It makes me happy to see your owner disappointed one more time. He looks like Charley Brown after Lucy has taken the football away yet again.

Goodbye Broncos. Same for you. Your owner is a douche so no matter how classy Peyton is you do not have the karma for it to be in your dharma.

Carolina? Well, nice try but better luck next year. Cheer up, it is nothing to cry about, especially your quarterback because your team would rather play for a man than a little girl next year.

Colts look tough but Brady made a pack with the devil so best to hope the contract expires and Brady has to go straight to hell and ends up not being able to make it game day.

What are you referring to that makes the owner a douche? The owner Pat Bowlen relinquished control of the team not long ago because he's suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and is no longer lucid enough to run the organization.

I must have missed something because I've never heard anything bad said about the man, plus he's Canadian.

Andrew Luck has a chance to be the best of all time - he is a monster, his IQ is as high as any NFL QB, save for Ryan Fitzpatrick the Harvard grad who scored perfect on the Wonderlic test, is a workaholic when it comes to preparing and studying film along with the arm and the legs.

The Colts were so lucky, Peyton got hurt and missed a season, Colts did the smart thing, they tanked hard and ended up with the 1st pick overall in the draft where there just happened to be a generational QB waiting for them in Luck.

Don't think he is Canadian, just that his family made money in Canadian oil. But aside from the evils of that industry, he did make Elway a part owner and I can't stand Elway. Have you already forgotten Tebow? Or are you just willing to give him a pass for the Alzheimers?

Re: Manning's injury, isn't that in direct violation of the NFL's injury reporting rules?

I'd like to hear more about the intentional deception. These rules were enacted to prevent gamblers from getting inside information that could influence betting and are taken pretty seriously.

"Broncos doctors knew about the injury, and Manning did what he could to intentionally conceal the injury from as many people as he could, sources said. Manning had been listed on the team's injury reports as having an injured thigh."

.
My understanding is that the team only has to report whether or not a guy is injured and give a vague description of the injury. The injury report simply stated that Manning had a thigh injury, had participated in full practice that week and was probable for the game. How much beyond that they give out is up to them.

I was happy to see the Seahawks win and I think they have a good chance of repeating as champs.

I would have liked to have seen Dallas win as well.

As for Manning, I think it will depends on how he feels healthwise and how the coaching situation turns out there. Fox has stepped down so a new head coach is coming in. If they bring in someone Manning wants and he feels good I think they will load up again and take another shot. If they bring in a guy who wants to revamp the whole system and they start letting free agents go and rebuilding the team he might opt to retire.
