Forum with REAL adult webmasters

GFY is great for amusement purposes...but actually provides very little in useful information. And from the content of most posts, I am assuming that most members are not really what I would classify as adult webmasters, but are instead adult webmaster hopefuls. For example, you see post after post of people complaining about being owed a couple hundred bucks (or less) or worrying about the cost of VPS hosting... not exactly the worries of anyone who is making an income from this industry.

Not saying people aren't helpful...but when members are sharing advice with each other, when they really don't have the traffic, earnings or experience to give advice, it's not all that useful.

So, my question is, are there still any forums out there that are approaching this from less of an entertainment angle and more of an actual business angle? Of course, this question may not be answered, as I expect that the real webmasters aren't on GFY and they won't see this question.

I am a real Adult Webmaster so perhaps you are missing my posts. But insulting people, then asking them to tell you the name of ANOTHER Forum (reason for banning?) is, well, amateurish on your part.

Therefore I do not believe YOU are a real Adult Webmaster.

I'm a real webmaster and I have a real signature letting people know what I do in this biz. Maybe you should check your attitude at the door and act like a real webmaster with a sig instead.

The truth is if you are just now entering Adult as your Dec 2014 nick states you are too late anyways regardless if there was more biz related threads. If you are not already making money in this day and age then you might as well look for a mainstream job, cause porn is 3 times harder to make a buck as it was 10 years ago.

I couldn't have said it better

GFY is full of professional webmasters, but we are Adult Webmasters, get a fucking clue when you log into a forum called Go Fuck Yourself and the main forum is Fucking Around and program discussion. We talk about what matters to US! A lot of us have been in the business over 10 years and those that post here and fucking around are here to socialize. If we have a question, we post that too!

AWESOME! You mean I am a 1%er?!? In the last 14 years I've worked in Adult and never held a job besides Adult in that time. I might not be rich or a millionaire but I pay my bills/rent, paid my share of my daughters college.. I own my car outright. I don't use any servers that aren't dedicated and I don't complain on here about not getting paid a few $$$

I think a lot more people than 1% make money here but the ones that make the real money have no reason to brag on a internet forum.

The forums have for sure changed over the years and these days the ones that make money have IMs and phone numbers of contacts they have done biz with over the years.. This is called Fucking around and program discussion for a reason.

Take a look at the active username here.. Do you think more than 1% of them have any real income in adult? This forum is primarily made up of people who maybe maybe a side income
In adult 5 years ago, and now just post because they like posting here and because they have become accustomed to it.
Not saying there is anything wrong with that, but the original poster of this thread has a good and valid point.

What do you define as "real income"? Over a mil a year? Six figs?
YOUR income better be above those numbers to be judging anyone else dude.

People who are owed few hundies most likely earn much more (unless it was their only sponsor). That qualifies them as webmasters.
If you are not in bed with pirates, tubes etc, few hundies is not that shabby these days, unfortunately most do not earn even that.

You're pulling numbers out or your ass. I define real income as enough that they can do adult at least part time for more than minimum wage. I also never claimed go make money in adult, which if anything reinforces what my stance was and the original posters feelings. I probably make more than your program though if you're trying to gauge income.

I see a terminological fuzziness in your words. What's 'adult'? Or do you mean 'mature'? Perhaps this kind of maturity your snotty assault is missing?

Clearly you do not make more than me if you think I was pulling numbers out of my ass. One of those numbers applies to me, and to many others on GFY.

Having said that, there are many, many places in the US (and the world) where you can live quite nicely for $40k a year. Even less in some places. This means someone can work full-time as an Adult Webmaster with Adult being their only job. In fact, most of my employees work full-time for $150 a week and are quite happy (and this is their only job).

So who's talking out of their ass here? You sound like a fool if you think 99% of GFY-ers are hobbyists.

I think we both know which of those numbers applies to you. Also, mr sensitive, when I say "pulling numbers out of your ass," I'm referring to you saying 1 million - 6 figures is what I consider real income. What I declare as real income is something that could be considered a job. You seem to be naive and think everyone posting on gfy actually makes money in adult.

if you want to believe that, go ahead.. I have my opinion which is most people here are surfers, and you have yours which seems to be everyone here is making money.

You are buying programs but don't really seem to know what's going on. Have you not noticed how even the most respected affiliate managers etc can't find work and get laid off left and right and leave the business entirely? If they can't find work/income in adult you think all these other 500/day posters are making money?

I also will just believe you that you make a ton of money. People who's investment strategy seems to be to catch a falling knife usually do well.

My position is not that "everyone" here at GFY makes their primary living in Adult. I think many are surfers. But I think a reasonable % would be around a 70/30 split, with 70% people being "in the Industry" to some capacity.

But the offense comes not in that but in stating (and defending) that 99% do not make their primary money in Adult. Sure, companies with offices and formerly bloated staffs an budgets are laying off people (a major reason why I never opened an office, and so grateful I didn't). But you forget how many people work for themselves and thus have more time to post here while they are working on something else. This is what I do.

We probably are closer to agreement than it appears since your position is that someone merely needs to make more than they would earn at a menial labor job, thus qualifying as a real Adult Webmaster. That bar is fairly low, which opens up the percentages even further.

Defending the OP's haughty and insulting position is what offended me, and others. I could've just said eat a bag of dicks instead of explaining myself. LOL

takethebluepill, most of the adult forums are gone. The industry lost 90% of it's affiliates and that had a ripple effect along with other things. That said it has always been that 80-90% aren't making much if anything and the other 10-20% are. What you see now honestly pretty much reflects the state of the industry. I'm not saying no one makes any real money or that you can't but what you see is pretty much what you get. GFY reflects adult in 2015 like it or not.

And you don't get rich by letting $100 go here and there just because you are Mr. Bigshot. I don't know a bank in the world that just lets things go if you short them $100, do you? I get what you are saying though. Consider this though. You really don't build yourself up by putting others down save for in the eyes of people who do not know any better.

Are you a real adult webmaster? Does it make you one just because you own a hosting and domain and can troubleshoot your own shit?

Thanks for the response. I agree with your post, even the last paragraph.

I just find the industry to be quite frustrating these days. There`s a real opportunity for webmasters and affiliates to really help each other out, and make this industry strong. Instead, most of the time, this board is simply an online frat house, where most posts give me every reason NOT to trust a company with my traffic.

But yes, as many pointed out..this is called GFY / Fucking Around, so it is what it is.

Sorry but that's never going to happen. This industry cannibalized itself. Tubes / Torrents completely destroyed it, and the only people left are the few people who bought out every other program + own the tubes, and bang cards 3 times+ each with xsales etc.

I'm not whining since I don't work in adult, but coming back from this will be near impossible. How will this industry recover, when you could just move to mainstream and apply the same tactics and make money 100x easier?

Agreed, GFY has been helpful in pointing out some of the 'players' whose business strategy is to scam the customer out of their money. We could see it coming in the late 90's, when one particular member on this board was largely responsible for the majority of malware being delivered across the net. Same idiot now runs one of the programs that specializes in xsale crap. It was and is people like him that set the bar so low, where scamming was and is considered an admirable business trait in this industry
.

It is not that easy in adult anymore. After penguin and panda that is. If you disagree - post your advice.

He may not work in Adult, but his post was one of the most insightful of the entire thread.

1. I would love to know who makes their only revenue thru adult and what that revenue is, but we all know we're never going to get those figures on GFY.

2. I define "real income" as six figures (US$) and above. For some it might be less, but that's what I come up with.

3. I think there are plenty of people on GFY who crack 6 figures solely in Adult. And some may be trolls. And some may have very high post counts. But I bet most don't.

4. For full disclosure I made $1,800 last year in Adult Income, solely from a clips4sale store that I did not update AT ALL in 2014. I did make 6 figures in my other business, working an average of 70 hours a week. I'd like to think if I worked the same amount of hours on clips4sale (shooting new content and posting everyday) and cams (a great source of content if you set it up right with shows) I would have approached the same six figures. In the end, it's all work. The more you put in, the more you get out.

5. Porn Nerd: Your employees are happy with $7,800 a year, or is that a typo? Bangladeshis in Malaysia aren't happy with $7,800 a year.

6. Plenty of useful information on GFY, especially if you use the search function.

7. Better information on clips4sale and the like on the Stripper site, but GFY is much more entertaining.

Congrats to all the winners!

GFY is actually a great source and you can find a lot of good information on here, it's also a great way to learn about new programs and you can usually get in contact with someone just by posting a thread.
