This war of mine

I'm talking about the video-game.
Has anyone tried it out?
I've played it quite a lot lately and I think it's pretty good.
Pretty good but really depressing!

This approach they have on war is radically different to what we usually see (fully loaded goons running across enemy lines killing on sight).

Also the teaser is pretty cool:

I think that may be the idea. These types of games are going for more and more reality, and the reality of war is that it's not fun times, killing, destroying and blowing things up, racking up points etc, while reaching for a sip of beer or a handful of preztels. I'd imagine real war IS pretty damned taxing on your psyche right to the inner core. Never been in one myself but I've known many who have, all of whom say they aren't the same person they were beforehand.

I may just have a closer look at this one once I get my new sys.

I agree.
You play as a group of refugees.
And by depressing I mean: As depressing as a game can be and still be called a game

But I really do recommend it, for me it was like a slap to the face, busting all the glamour built up by movies and video games about war.

It's a one of the kind

Looks very odd. The whole concept. Although there are plenty of movies from this subject.

The glamour somewhat lessens by going to army too. War is quite hard even without the fighting.

I'm looking forward to Pillars of Eternity coming out on the 26th...big fan of the old infinity engine games like Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment.

Maybe the whole idea was to make it be depressing...
