Guardians of the Galaxy - AWESOME

I avoid most trailers and previews and stuff. I'm a little burnt on the whole Marvel Universe, though I'm sure the movies are probably awesome or at least hella-fun...

I've seen some, like Iron Man, etc... but I don't hunt them down.

But I caught Guardians of the Galaxy tonight and I was blown away.

It's one of the most surreal, extreme, absolute comic book emulations, ever... and funny; and rocks; and even touching; and fun and wtf - just incredible!

ok, rant over, back to work shit ...

:D

I loved Guardians of the Galaxy. The beginning was powerful (mom, dying, cancer, kid alone). All the characters were fun, especially Groot, and the effects were beyond amazing. I saw it in the theatre but only a couple of months after it came out because the trailers didn't interest me but was glad I did.

Guardians is yet another MARVEL property. Can these guys never make a bad movie? Let's see there are:

The Blade movies (3)
Iron Man Movies (3)
Avengers (3)
Hulk (2)
Thor (2)
Camptain America (2) + a 3rd in production

14 movies and counting, and they are all great. Ok Maybe Blade II wasn't the best, I it was still good. And a lot of people disliked Hulk (dir Ang Lee) but I absolutely loved it. (Monsters! 50's Era Army Science Experiments! Nukes! And the coolest most amazing editing I've ever seen in any movie).

Marvel kicks ass. I already bought my tickets last week to see Avengers and am going tonight (Woohoo!). Can't wait.

Yes they can, these ones are horrible:

Iron Man Movies (3)
Avengers (3)
Hulk (2)
Thor (2)
Camptain America (2) + a 3rd in production

Ok, i watched from every character only 1 movie, or half of it because i couldn't stand it, but they are all bad. I remember watching Thor and this was even one of the worst movies i've ever seen. It are all so personality-less, soulles, cookie cutter McDonalds type movies - plus extremely childish.

Except Guardians of the Galaxy. This is an etertaining movie, because it isn't really a superhero movie - it's a movie like Star Wars. Science fiction in another world. That is what makes it work.

totally agree. those flicks do not stand up to repeat viewings, except for Guardians.

It took me a while to get into the whole superhero thing but now I really dig it.

The first Thor was - "ok". I think that maybe it was the worst of all the Marvel movies, but it was still good. It looked a little cheap and low budget in parts, but when I watched it a second time just to get caught up on the Avengers, I appreciated it more.

Tongue-in-cheek sci-fi by Marvel.

I like all kinds of movies. I prefer mind-bending sci-fi like Interstellar, but sometimes fluf is fun too.

It really was one of the best movies of 2014. I don't think it would be hyperbole to say its one of the first movies I've seen in years that gave me that same feeling of excitement I could get at a blockbuster movie during the 80's. It just rarely happens anymore.

Remember what it was like to see Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom with a packed theater? You know the type of experience and feeling I'm talking about -- if you were there.

I didnt care for it either, but i haven't really liked any superhero movies since maybe iron man. They're oversaturating the market with these marvel movies.

It's not a superhero movie. It's a science fiction movie.

So very true , BUT - there are LOT of Adults who dress themselves like their favorite characters - just to make their sex life amazing. Craig list - is burning with announcement before every convention : Iron man is looking for Catwoman / I'm clean, no STD ! Lookin for the same !

And those kind of people are some of the loyal members of cartoon sites and artists, they are also commissioners and supporters. It's a life style they choose to live. Thank God they exist, because without them there will be no business.

If you havent seen it yet, it will be just as good today as it was last year. I normally dont see movies when they first come out just because i hate crowded theaters. Doesnt make them any less enjoyable when I'm watching it 3 weeks later on a Tuesday afternoon and have the theater to myself. Or 8 months later on Netflix or HBO.

Same here. I happened to see Guardians of the Galaxy a couple weeks after it opened with my son at Edwards Irvine Spectrum theater 21 in IMax 3D. It was an experience. I saw it a couple days ago on StarzOnDemand and it was shitty quality, but all the memories came back. If it takes 15 shitty Marvel movies to make one good one, then I'm all for that. 1:15 ratio is gold in my book

I'm guessing you saw it because its making the rounds on the movie channels now. I watched the third act while I was eating dinner last night. It's a hell of a third act.
