Robbie.. A show on PBS you should watch..
I know you have said in the past that carbon dioxide going into the ocean is a good thing. This show will tell you why it's very bad to have all that carbon going into the ocean. It's killing everything..
NOVA | Lethal Seas It airs tonight but will be on their website sometime in the near future.. |

CO2 like pretty much everything is good in moderation bad if it goes too high or too low.
but the whole global warming thing and the part that nobody wants to address is the real problem which is over population whether you believe the problem is man made or not, cars or cows you cant avoid the fact that the real driving force of increase is the population. like it or not.

I've seen the hypothesis that the ocean's acidity will rise and it will be the end of the world (again).
I'm not a scientist, but yeah if that's true then it is a concern. Having said that...what happened all through the Earth's history when CO2 levels were MUCH higher? ![]() Did the oceans "die"? Or did life thrive? Science tells us that when temperatures were warmer for instance...that more life existed and thrived on Earth than at any other time. Historically we are not at the highest levels. Not even close. But since man has only been on Earth a very short time...it could very well be that CO2 could DOOM us all. My opinion (as always), is that nature will adapt. The world will keep on turning. And mankind will exist until the next "extinction event" (meter or huge volcanic eruptions worldwide) And then some other species will become the predominant life on Earth. And that cycle will continue for a few billion more years until the Sun's life cycle is completed. THEN, that will be... the end |

Yes Robbie the oceans "did" die when the co2 went that high.. You should watch the program, they even mention that. It was one of the mass extinction events which took place here on Earth. |

That's weird...because during the Cenozoic Era (the one we're in now)...at the beginning of it when the CO2 was higher than now...and temps were WAY higher (the entire Earth was basically tropical) life on Earth was thriving.
How do you explain that? |

Robbie,
Life can thrive with high C02... It's just human life that can't. So, yeah a thriving planet may exist with high C02, it just won't have our species on it. If you don't mind 0 humans... Then ignore c02 completely. If humans matter, then C02 levels are worth your attention. |

Mammals thrived in much higher CO2 levels in history (before mankind). So is it the CO2 that is somehow going to get so dense that it kill us? Or is it still supposed to be the slightly warmer temps that will kill us all (global warming)? I can't keep up with all the doom and gloom. The CO2 was being sucked into the ocean (it adapted) and it looked like everything was gonna be "ok"...but the guys making billions of dollars selling carbon credits saw their fortunes in danger and the next thing you know...that has now become a "bad" thing too because it will supposedly change the ocean's php levels to more acidic. I'm not a scientist...but I wish I were. Then I could cash in and get myself a big funding grant from Al Gore and join in on the money train. heh-heh Earth has been much warmer...including just a few hundred years ago. And it ushered in the Rennaisance era (people were able to grow food easier and lead better lives because they weren't freezing to death). Earth has had much higher levels of CO2...including recently (in Earth's overall history) and even though humans hadn't yet evolved...our distant ancestors were certainly there and not only lived...but evolved and continued to evolve over time. Sorry man...I really believe what I said earlier. Mankind will be right here until a true extinction event occurs (meteor or catastrophic volcanic eruptions) that renders the Earth temporarily unlivable again. Then life will start over and a few hundred million years later...a new dominant species will take over and we won't even be remembered. And then the cycle will happen again and again...until the Sun's life cycle is up and it goes out. The End. |

One sad thing about all of this is that these are problems that can be fixed, but that too many people think that they can't be fixed, or, think that its not necessary to fix, etc. I know you're tired of hearing the alarm bells, but ignoring them or passing them off as nothing won't make them go away.

![]() Exactly. The world is at over capacity right now. We are getting to the limits of water, and other resources available yet the population continues to climb. It's about time for the black plague or alike to come along and knock out 25-50% of the global population as it's done historically.

I'm pretty sure if Robbie was willing to watch the program he would come to the understanding that his theory of the ocean sucking up the CO2 as being good is very very wrong. However I should of known better because there is no willingness to learn, but only stubbornness to say he knows everything. The moral of the story is that 30% of the lower food chain is dying off due to this excess carbon and we are only at the beginning phases. They have found that "some" life has been able to survive but diversity is lost. One of the biggest things is Oysters are not capable of creating shells in high C02 so oysters might go extinct. If you know anything about sea life you should know that clams & oysters filter the water.. ie they are pretty fucking important to the ecosystem. These lower food chain items will of course cause more problems in the upper food chain. as you can't just take away 30% of the lower tier ocean life and have no problems up the chain.. Anyway.. willful ignorance is not cute.. it's ignorant. It's why nothing ever gets through Robbie's head much less yours.. You guys always know everything and amazing enough it always fits hand and hand with the right wing political talking points. Obviously the environment doesn't fit your team's political agenda. |

World war three and plagues won't save us. Wars are now fought with precision drone strikes designed to minimalize casualties. Ebola had one guy with it enter the U.S. and the whole country lost its mind even though he was quarantined. The chance of a massive outbreak, or war of attrition on the scale needed to fix population density is much lower than the chance that drought, depleted soil and other environmental wipe us out.

crockett and his leftist elitist thinking...
If I don't agree with the bullshit he's being fed by "science" funded by investors in "Green Energy" than I am being "willfully ignorant" Because crockett is so enlightened? I don't mean to be mean-spirited. But neither crockett or mark prince impress me with their knowledge and mental acuity. And neither of them seem to be capable of producing a single independent thought. Every post they make is spoon fed to them from whatever source they use to distill the news of the day and is filtered through the extreme left bias. That's how people with real money get richer...they use people like crockett and mark prince. 2 guys with good intentions. And who don't question anything they are told. Now let me get the "Hitler" part in here: Just like the German soldiers did in WW2 lol |

I rolled my eyes at it the whole time. It was a big ratings grab by the news channels. Pretty fucked up. Like that Amtrak derailment a couple of days ago. CNN went into 24 hour train derailment mode. There was NOTHING else happening in the world (or at least that's what you would have thought watching CNN). They interviewed the survivors. They interviewed people who witnessed it. They then brought in "analysts" to discuss the discussions. Then they brought in "experts" to discuss how we can make sure this never happens again. Then they interviewed other analysts who discussed what the experts had just discussed. Blah-blah-blah-blah And after every commercial break, they would lead back in with the exciting graphic and music announcing that this is: "BREAKING NEWS" lol |

Relentless, a nuclear emp detonated in near-earth orbit over the USA would wipe out 100 million people according to some new research, taking into account media sensationalism, it's still not out of the question.

I can see there is never any convencing you of anything. I mean you didn't watch the program before posting up your bookmarked denalibilty charts. Seriously you go out of your way to try and pretend there is a vast conspiracy which includes all the scientist in the world. It doesn't even enter your mind that a conspiracy such as this would be the single biggest conspiracy that has ever taken place including thousands of govt officials, scientist and people whom would have to be in the loop.. I mean fuck it would be a thousand times bigger a conspiracy then if the moon landings were faked, because it involves scientists from almost every country on the planet.. On top of this they have somehow managed to keep Republicans out of the loops because they would certainly expose such an attempt by U.S. Left wing elitist to ruin their coal and oil party.. Yet you would rather believe in that, than admit that man has something g to do with global warming.. Simply amazing what goes on in the brains of consertives. |

crockett it's not a "conspiracy"
It's just simple economics. If you are a scientist studying climate change BEFORE all the alarmists started screaming (like Al Gore's totally fictional movie that you and others claimed was fact)....you were probably barely making enough money to survive. But now? Scientists studying climate change are at the top of the Science heap when it comes to funding! Hell yeah baby! Can you imagine the cocaine and hookers at THAT convention? Money is flowing like a fine wine. You're getting MILLIONS of dollars in grant money. And all you gotta do is "prove" that man-made global warming exists! And it's awful convenient that the Earth just happens to be warming up coming out of what is referred to as "The Little Ice Age". PERFECT! Everything is in place. The Earth is warming up. Billionaires are lined up making fortunes off of carbon credits. And there you are studying climate change. What would YOU do? Well, you could refuse those grants and tell the truth. And then guys like YOU would discredit everything that you said. Because crockett...the ONLY people you will believe are the ones who are funded by people with monetary interests in "Green Energy". Keep believing that you aren't being misled. I don't care. But I know enough about this world to know that EVERYTHING is about the money. If this were "real"...the govt.'s of the world would declare and emergency and real change would happen. Instead...the United States military continues to leave the largest "carbon footprint" on the planet on a daily basis. You see, it's more important to have POWER than it is to actually try to solve imaginary problems. Think about that the next time you watch Al Gore or President Obama riding in a big jet, a limousine, or a big SUV |

What you are describing could be nothing more than the greatest conspiracy ever to take place, but fear not Robbie knows the truth... He has charts and stuff, he doesn't need any silly scientist to tell him stuff, he knows better.. |

Typical from you to try and twist things around. The truth is YOU are the one that doesn't understand how the world works. Brother, there are an entire class of people who operate in a world that you and I can't get access to. They are the movers, shakers, and money makers. And trust me...there is no "conspiracy" (as you keep saying). It's simply about money. Again...if it's REAL, then why doesn't the United States DO something? Instead the govt. puts out more CO2 than any other entity in existence. How blind can you be? |

And actually, getting people to agree that CO2 and other greenhouse gasses are a problem IS a good step towards solving the problem. There are all kinds of things that need to be done to clean things up, and educating people will make a big difference. The way you dismiss everyone trying to make a difference is very sad. People care about the world even if you don't.

Mark, today Pres. Obama put more of the EVIL CO2 in the air than everyone in this thread combined. He rode in a big limousine everywhere he went.
And at the same time...as "Commander In Chief" of the U.S. military...he made the largest "carbon footprint" of ANY entity in the world today. And he does it every day. Maybe you & crockett should ask Pres. Obama to watch that t.v. show? |

Later on while the other kids were playing at recess, I was in the library reading books about science, weather, astronomy, etc. This is all before grade 6. I did 4 years of high school computer science in 1 year and a half. I was the biggest nerd in elementary school and an even bigger nerd in high school. While the Jocks were driving fast cars, being macho and planning my next beating, I was keeping to myself and enjoying what I enjoyed. Sure I wished I was a jock, but my pencil-shaped body suggested I skip that idea. I'm not trying to say I'm smart (I'm not), but I do have a real interest in all things science. I like it, its interesting to me. When I express interest in things like EV's, green energy, the environment etc, its really coming from me. Quote:

There are some things that some regular folks like you and me can do to reduce our impact on the environment. An EV is good for me because I live only about 25 kilometres from the city, and I ride alone. Electric makes more sense for someone like me than Gas. However, Gas makes more sense for trucks. There are no EV trucks yet as far as I know, so of course they have to use gas. I would never dump on them for using gas. me.

Thanks
Tell you what Robbie. If you can really prove me wrong, and if you are planning to come to the Qwebec Expo trade show in August here in Montreal, I will buy you dinner. I'm not kidding. PS : Maybe Crocket and Rochard might want to join us..! ![]() Hard to argue that point. Everything is about money, and requires money. There is money to be made in oil, but there's also money to be made in green energy too. Let's agree that both sides have a strong financial stake in swaying public opinion at least. And since both sides do, they should cancel each other out at least as far as this discussion goes. What do you think?

OK. **********. here's your chance. fill me in on 3 kinds of the "all kinds of things that would get cleaned up" as a result of you getting Robbie to agree with your view on CO2 and i will stand corrected. just 3 is fine. and i'm gonna let you slide on your continued misrepresentation of me. but that's mostly on account of i'm tired of repeating myself to you about it. people who care aren't leftards. hypocrites who look down their noses at others while thinking winning an argument about CO2 solves pollution are leftards. |
