The timing couldn't be better IMO. Well ok maybe it could have been, perhaps two weeks ago would be better as then maybe Luis Figo wouldn't have dropped out of the election. IMO he is the man FIFA needs to be in charge. He was one of the best players of his generation, he played for two of the biggest clubs ever and he seems like a pretty good guy who would do the right thing for the game.
I really hope the election is cancelled and someone convinces Figo to put his name back on the ballot. I think common sense will prevail and he will realize this is the change he needed to happen, I hope so anyway. |
