I work alongside cops - never heard one refer to themselves as peace officers. But I've heard the reference sometimes used for lower-class, entry-level constables - usually not the upper ranks like sergeants or staff sergeants.

Two of my best friends are cops and I know a lot of cops through them. I've never heard any of them refer to themselves as that. Typically they say either cop, officer or po po.

these guys are younger for cops, i think, late 20s early 30s it seems like. it occurred to me perhaps it's part of their training on account of how they'd say it, like "as a peace officer..", "the other peace officer over there can..." it struck me as interesting.

dude we have the politest police you can meet...it is almost impossible to get shot...you really really really have to be shooting at them...they will never draw a weapon on you if you do not have one...

nothing like the US police...and we have the 2nd highest gun ownership per capita after the USA and like 100x less crime and murder ect...no gangs at all like the cripps or bloods or whatever...a "gang" here is like 3-4 dudes selling weed

we did not manage to fail like the USA despite 2 wars and decades of crippling sanctions...the USA is just better at us at some things
