Obama and Biden <rolls eyes>

They are saving face -- why would this work out better than the nuclear non proliferation deals with North Korea?
  1. Iran has indigenous uranium mines in Iran.
  2. Iran has a proven history of covert nuclear activities.
  3. Who really knows what stockpiles of weapons grade uranium or plutonium are hidden in Iran -- only what the Iranians admit to.

This is another Colin Powell at the UN moment waiting to happen.

The real problem is: What is to stop Iran from just barring the International Atomic Energy Agency access and having acrimony at the UN while the remaining centrifuges are used for weapons grade enrichment buying time with procedural belligerent argument?

I don't think that if Iran had nuclear weapons they would use them -- they would be turned into a glass parking lot and they know it. However, Iran is the supplier to various militant, resistance and terrorist groups and they may use dirty bombs not only in the Middle East but in Jihad on Western Civilization. The "nothing to lose mindset" or "the suicide bomber" mentality ...

I am glad I am not 20-years-old facing a future like this

Here is what most people don't understand.... There will always be some kind of threat, and yet none of those threats really pan out. I am STILL waiting for Obama to take away our guns.

Eventually Iran will have nuclear weapons. This is not a "if", it's more of a "when" type of thing. The best thing we can do is slow them down. Pakistan has nukes, yet no one seems to be concerned about that.

And yet sixty years later we still deal with North Korea.

After so many years of seeing this you just sort of say to yourself "Who the fuck cares any more?". Does anyone really think that Iran is going to a nuke and then destroy Israel in five years? Don't be silly.

This is all just fear mongering.

Well, the USA and the USSR never attacked each other with ICBMs.

Jihadists are the real threat with dirty bombs.

Pakistan is a real threat in that aspect. Who gave safe harbor to Osama bin-Laden? Pakistanis are known to have helped Jihadists and give safe harbor to the Taliban -- wittingly or not.

so it looks like the deal pushes out iran's nuke capability timeline from 2-3 months to 1 year. if it's all on the up&up, i'm fine with that accord. it looks like we're about to bro-up with iran and bump SA down the list of preferred ME partners. whatev

it's painfully clear BO has no real foreign policy strategy. by all accounts, he's leaving the world in a mess for the next USA president. not that foreign policy (of any nation) has ever worked. but it's been more of an afterthought for the current sitting president, the guy i voted for.

Like starting two wars and laying the ground work for more turmoil was a great forgin policy by Bush? The guy whom said " I don't care where bin laden is".

Let's not also forget that North Korea tested their first nuke under Bush's watch.. He sure was effective on forgin policy..

i realized a long time ago you fail at quoting my posts where i've pointed such things out, including foreign policy in its entirety over the history of foreign policy across the planet is flawed. just as i included (yet again) in my post you just quoted.

but hey, we all know you have your agenda and your need to stick to it, even if it means distorting reality.

This is my point. We were on the verge of war for decades. Yet it never happened. It can't happen. Because if it ever does it will end in nuclear war and tens of millions will die in days.

If Iran ever gets a nuclear bomb... Nothing will change. Iran would have the ability to destroy Israel. But within hours, Iran would cease to exist. And they know this.

Yet years later Jihadists and Pakistan are really no more of a threat than they were ten years ago. And ten years from now there will be a completely new threat - Keep in mind that ISIS or ISIL didn't exist a few years ago.

you don't understand the difference between a non-elected political candidate making a comment v an elected official deleting state emails.

Of course Putin likes it, Russia is part of the UN Security Council along with China, Germany, The US, Great Britain, and France...all who was part of these negotiations. Something the right wing doesn't understand. Oh, but its all Obama.

Republicans were screaming the same rhetoric when Clinton pushed for peace in Northern Ireland, now most people couldn't tell you who the IRA was.

Fucking right wingers hate peace.

the strangest thing is Saudi is very upset about US assisting the iraqis/iranians against the ISIS

which is odd, as if ISIS were to gain control of the territories of iraq, iran probably would be an option for 'who is next', and then after that most of the people on that exception list.. yet they seem to act like it would never ever happen

The Sunni Iraqis -- no. The Iraqi Shiite elements -- yes.

They are afraid that the Nuclear Agreement will free up Iranian money and trade earnings that might ,and probably will, be given to radical Shiite elements that be used to attack the Sunni (Wahhabist) followers of the extremist form of Islam that the majority practice in Saudi Arabia.

It's an extreme case of my enemy's enemy is my friend until that enemy becomes mine.
