Presidential candidate Donald Trump revealed a little-known episode of personal heroism from his youth on Saturday, telling an Iowa audience that he narrowly avoided capture in Vietnam by remaining in the United States for the duration of the war.

“The Cong were after me,” Trump said, visibly stirred by the memory. “And then, just in the nick of time, I got my deferment.”

The former reality-show star said he had never shared his record as a war hero before because “I don’t like to boast.”

I'd have to say this is his big bow out event.. He is just trying to sabotage his campaign so he can drop out.. This is what I've been saying from the start, he doesn't want to be pres.. He's just on an ego trip of self promotion..

I tend to agree. He can't be so colossally stupid to say what he did and still expect much public support...unless it was an intentional exit strategy.

What on earth would make you think that? For starters he has lost business thanks to his comments. Further, if he were just going to bow out he wouldn't be releasing financial statements. He claimed he'd run before, that was publicity. He's actually running this time, way different scenario.

He went directly to work beginning " his career at his father's real estate company,[28] Elizabeth Trump and Son, ". He didn't move to Canada so why wasn't he drafted as an officer as most college graduates were in 1968. Was he 4-F physical or something more bizarre? *see link*
