What kind of office chair do you have?

I have a very bad lower back and I believe my chair is causing me to be in pain. Does anyone have any chair recommendations that have bad lower backs? I figured this would be a good place to ask considering we are all keyboard warriors.

Regular office chair, the height can be adjusted.

At first, ensure that your monitor is about hand length away from you. Relax and sit back. At this point the chair should support your lower back, if it ain't, adjust it, if that doesn't work, get a new chair.

Infra From Billingtonbrown.co.uk

It does not look "like a boss", but is ergonomic enough.

It looks like it needs rocked pods on the back side, and up you go.

I have two herniated discs in my lower back and I've been using the same Herman Miller Aeron for the past 10 years with zero complaints

Aeron Chair - Office Chairs - Chairs - Herman Miller Official Store

I have the medium size one, so far I've only had to replace an armrest adjuster bolt and the lumbar support pad (a known weak spot) and I'm in this chair 50-70 hours per week.

the only way anybody will ever take this chair from me is when they pry it from my cold, dead ass

The lumbar support isn't as good as it could be, but the feeling of lording it over the peasant scum is quite invigorating...

I know, I know, I need to update some of the decor in the office....

That's a pretty good deal. I ordered mine from dwr.com about 5 years ago for about $600.

I have a standing desk, so my chair is a stool that kind of looks like an Aeron chair. It has a reclining back, and that's been the key for my lower back. Reclining while sitting takes pressure off the lower back.

Reclining Is Good For Your Back

I actually tweaked my lower back this week...happens every so often from the most innocuous activity. I can go to the gym and deadlift 345 and no problems. Then I destroy my back for a few days by reaching for my cell phone the wrong way. Anyway, this has been a killer product for getting the knots out of the hip and lower back area. It's called the Mauler for good reason.

one should always spend a bit more for a chair that you have to work on of course and I use a pretty good one here at the office but in most cases any lower back pain isn't caused from the design of your chairs as much as it is the muscle break down that happens from continuous sitting or laying down. Short of joining a gym or getting too into your workout i would suggest some squats and lunges every day or so, even with just body weight. This will help build up the stabilizer muscles fairly well. It's not something that can be fixed with just walking alone. I have had lower back pain often over the years and every time i get it its almost always come at times where i am not going to they gym regularly, where i do those movements often.

just some preventative measures anyway.

those Herman Millers look like really good chairs but are they worth the money? I've been debating on getting something nice. strictly for someone with a dislocated lower back.
