Hi to all,
help me to understand the different services of the server? because I'm very confused ...

From what I understand, I am now hosting (Web Hosting - Unlimited Domains, Bandwidth, Disk Space, Free Features package geek), with this hosting, from what I understand I am sharing space with 411 other sites.
And actually my sites seem to suffer much for server resources.

I was offered to go to "Shared dedicated servers" (https://certifiedhosting.com/shared-dedicated-servers/) where as I understand it would only 6.

Among the offerings, however, there is also "Managed dedicated servers" (Managed Dedicated Servers - No Restrictions, Enterprise Grade Hardware) where I might be alone?

I feel, however, speak often of VPS, is one of these? Which?

I am very confused, also because I want to understand in terms of performance and visits if there are any real differences.

For example, between the hosting, among geeks and nerds the main difference seems to be "dedicated IP" and the price is quite different, really makes a difference so important to have a dedicated ip?

Between shared and managed server, be alone or be in 6, makes a noticeable difference?
In terms of visits it is changed from 10 to 1000, or 10 to 11?

At the moment with the hosting, basically I load the files and everything works. Among other packages you'll have a lot more things I manage? For example, the configuration of apache or php?

I have sites that are also currently 1500-2000 visits per day. From your experience, to invest money in some of these services, it makes sense?
They are money well spent, or are thrown away?

Which service would you recommend? How do you choose?

I would have a million questions about it, because I'm not really understanding anything ...

Can you help me answer some?

1- Shared servers - crowded and all resources are shared. Lowest on the totem pole. Smaller traffic sites do well on these. Forget about self hosting any videos or other resource intensive stuff.
2- VPS = shared server with resources dedicated to your particular partition. Many are not any better than shared hosting. The more premium packages offer advantages.
3- Dedicated managed - the server and resources are yours, somebody else takes care or the server, e.g. hardware and monitoring. Can handle self hosted videos pretty well.
4- Dedicated you take care of it all. Need to be a geek.

Yes, usually when they say a shared dedicated server they are referring to a vps solution. It is not better or worse then vps it is exactly the same thing.

Amount of visitors doesn't really allow someone to guess on what type of hosting ya need as it depends on what type of site your hosting and what the users are doing. Is it minimal load activity or is everyone using up major resources.

2 companies offering the same product can vary as well as company A may put a reasonable amount of people on each server which leads to good performance. Where company B can oversell/overload their servers which leads to high server loads/slow sites etc... The cheaper the price the more people they have to jam on a server to turn a profit. Can also see a difference by the equipment they use. Company A could be using high quality loaded servers where company B could be using bottom of the barrel inferior servers with minimal specs.

If your with a host that offers Shared, VPS and Dedicated and your noticing slowdowns on shared then the natural progression would be to upgrade to a VPS first to see how that handles as it might be enough instead of jumping straight to a dedicated that ya might not need and wasting money.

Management depends on the type of VPS ya buy.
Self Managed= You do the work
Partially Managed= You do some of the work
Fully Managed= Best if you don't know what your doing as they handle most of it or ya can submit a support ticket to get shit done that might not be on auto pilot.

My very own problem... Too much geek talk here and not enough business talk ... Dedicated, shared, my own, rented, or whatever else server ..all Chinese to me...

If folks talked plainly then we can all be better off...

Every business has it's own vocabulary, so if you want to be in the business you either have to learn the vocabulary or manage to hire people you trust who know the vocabulary to help guide you.

Learning the vocabulary puts you in a much better position because then it is a lot harder for someone to rip you off.

Good advice but vocabulary goes only so far.. Smart geek will always rip you off just as a smart dentist will. I have factored that in my " cost of doing business". But based on the above I have dedicated managed server paying about $ 1000 / month....
