Trump spent the least during the third quarter
Is this a sign of how The Don will conquer our spending issues as President? It might be!
![]() I've read a few articles from this writer over the past few months and it's interesting how his tone has been changing. (The Washington Post is on the same political scale as Huff, BTW.) * Of the major candidates, Trump spent the least. Sure, it's true that some of Trump's low spending has to do with the fact that, unlike anyone else on that chart, he is almost entirely self-funding his campaign. Without the need to hold fundraisers (or employ fundraising consultants) you can keep costs down. But, even with that caveat, the fact that Trump has spent so little to get SO much is remarkable. He is in first place in every single national and key-early-state poll I have seen and he continues to dominate the conversation about the race. Not only is he dominating the conversation about the race, but he has also started to dictate the terms. Twenty-four hours after Trump floated the idea of skipping the next debate, sponsored by CNBC ? because, among other things, it was too long ? CNBC announced that the debate would run only two hours. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...art/?tid=sm_fb

So much for a self funding campaign.
The celebrity billionaire who has sat atop GOP polls in recent months raised $3.9 million in the latest fundraising quarter, only $100,000 of which came from his own pocket. That's a drastic shift from his springtime fundraising report, when he loaned his campaign nearly all of the $1.9 million it had. Tampa Bay Online | AP Wires |

I don't think that is the reason he has spent so little money. Trump has made so many controversial or outright obnoxious statements -- it's testimony to his free media publicity.

Trump spends 4 million of other people's money.
Hillary spends 25 million of other people's money. Even Sanders, the Democratic Socialist that hates any and all forms of capitalism, spent more of other people's money at 11 million.

Why not? Plus being poor or middle income does not mean you are better, smarter. In fact odds are that any given rich guy is smarter than any given middle income guy.
You prefer smarter vs dumber any day in the office. Also - can't rich guy propose good things for middle class? His tax plan seems just like that. Pretty irrelevant. Quote:

Who?? = the voter
I am really tired of voting for the lesser of evils. Maybe, I'll just write my own name in for President on the ballot -- I'll get one vote and can say 'told you so' for years to come :OD Ludicrous isn't it? Hopefully, there will be someone worth voting for (IMO) today there is not. But life is comedy-tragedy anyway. |

It's possible Trump has spent a lot more money than everyone thinks, including Trump. The difference is a lot of his expenses are rolled up into his personal business. Meaning, if Hillary has a bus to tour a state she pays for it out of campaign money, but when Trump flies his helicopter it's a business expense. Same thing with the staff - All of Hillary's staff is on her payroll and is only paid for by campaign donations, where as Trumpy has hundreds of people on staff even if he isn't running for office.

Now you're talking! Do not vote for the "lesser of evils". People doing that is why our country is where it is today.
Use your intelligence and the technology of today to seek out and find a candidate who is worthy of your vote. Whatever your views on issues are...make sure you vote for someone who mirrors them. If more people were doing what you are now doing, we could straighten out Washinton D.C., and get some people in there who will actually DO what they say. |

Federal campaign financing laws require all candidates to disclose all expenditures.
Trump knows exactly how much he has spent. |

He is spending less money because he is not spending any money to raise money via fundraisers. And he is getting free air time from all networks and press. He also has run a lean campaign office to date, but those costs will start to ramp up as he builds a bigger presence in the first 3 States to get out the vote.

That's because he's on virtually every major network every single day for free.
And what's funny about it, the media think that if they keep him talking, he'll screw up and they'll get rid of him. And the result has been, his ratings keep going up. Go figure. Hopefully eventually they'll be right. Otherwise he won't have to advertise much at all. |

Trump continued to insist this week that he has not sought the help of a big-money super PAC. ?I don?t want anybody?s money,? he told supporters again Monday night at a rally in South Carolina. ?They?ve formed all these PACs. People pour money into the PACs. I don?t want ?em, don?t support ?em.? But there were mounting examples this week of ties between the Make America Great Again PAC and Trump?s political operation. |

I heard something the other day saying Trump spent $864,000 on merchandise to give out and that was his only real marketing expense. He throws out hundreds of hats at every rally he holds. Wonder if they are made in the USA?

Yeah I figured they would be, would be pretty dumb move to have them made in China or Taiwan. It will be interesting to see what his numbers look like when he starts to do more ads.

And now, with the Republican Party about to launch attack ads against him to the tune of $150 million dollars (hard to believe that a political party is attacking it's own front runner lol)...he probably won't have to spend much on ads at all. Just let the Republicans spend that money on ads attacking him and then watch his poll numbers rise even higher! lol |
