Russian airstrikes kill civilians and damage medical facilities

This was bound to happen ...
Quote:
[The New York-based Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) identified three strikes on Oct. 2 and 3, that occurred in the provinces of Hama, Idlib and Latakia. The strikes caused injuries, damages to the facilities and hampered desperately needed services, the group said.

?Bashar al-Assad?s forces have been relentlessly attacking Syria?s health care system for the past four years and the Russian government is now following in their footsteps,? Widney Brown, PHR?s director of programs, said in a press release. ?With these actions, Russia is damaging hospitals, putting patients and medical staff at risk, and depriving civilians of life-saving access to health care.? ...

... Russia last week rejected claims that its bombing campaign in Syria had led to civilian deaths, but the anti-Assad Syrian activist group Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said last Friday that at least 30 civilians had been killed in the first two days of Russian air strikes.

At least 4 dead from airstrikes in Syria
BY THE ASSOCIATED PRESS ? OCTOBER 18, 2015

AIRSTRIKE SYRIA
BEIRUT (AP) ? Russian and Syrian warplanes pounded targets in central and northern Syria, killing at least four civilians Sunday as ground troops battled insurgents and seized new territory, activists and the government said.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and activist news platform Syrian Revolution Talbiseh said warplanes believed to be Russian targeted mourners at a funeral in Homs province?s al-Ghanto village, killing four civilians. Homs-based activist Bebars al-Telawy said the civilians were burying a man who died from wounds sustained a day earlier when the planes struck.

Al-Ghanto, the town of Talbiseh and other areas north of the city of Homs were pounded with more than a dozen airstrikes Sunday, including government helicopters dropping barrel bombs in the village of Ter Maela, the activists said.

The state-news agency SANA reported army troops began a ground offensive in the area.

Making war is very messy.

Recently in Afghanistan US forces had bombed a hospital. The hospital claims they had identified themselves to both sides, and both sides knew about the location of the hospital. It seems the doctors believed they were safe and wouldn't be targeted. While that sounds like it should be "iron clad" it really isn't. Someone enters a number wrong on a computer or picks the wrong building on a map, someone gives permission to fire on a target when they shouldn't have, or someone fires on a target without feeling the need to get permission and....

When military forces are operating in areas where there are civilians, civilians will get hurt and killed. This has always been the case, and this will not change. It's even worse in some areas when the people fighting blend in with the civilians.

I am not saying this is acceptable, but this is part of the price the civilian population pays when war breaks out around them.

In November 2014, the U.S. Treasury Undersecretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, David Cohen, described Qatar as operating an environment that is tolerant of terrorism financing.[18]

U.S. counterterrorism officials have said that donations from countries outside the U.S. have been a traditional source of financing for terrorism. A small part of ISIS’s financing operations comes from such donations.[19]

Abdul Karim al-Thani, a member of Qatar’s royal family, ran a safe house for Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the founder of Al-Qaeda in Iraq, the predecessor to ISIS. Al-Thani gave Qatari passports out and put $1 million into a bank account to finance AQI.[20]

Abd al Rahman al Nuaymi, a Qatari citizen, worked as a go-between between ISIS’s predecessor, Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI), and donors to AQI from Qatar.[21]

^^ got your panties in a bunch--

Well, this is for all the US and Israeli bashers -- the Russian Air Force is just as bad -- whether you want to acknowledge it or not.

Why was it necessary to attack a funeral? Target of opportunity or was there some underlying reason? One medical facility might have been collateral damage but three separate attacks?

Of course any media that is not controlled by Putin such as RT or Sputnik cannot be telling the truth ... pigshit ... Russia can look forward to more attacks on its own soil that will be the fruit of Putin's folly in Syria.

“Bashar al-Assad’s forces have been relentlessly attacking Syria’s health care system for the past four years and the Russian government is now following in their footsteps,”

holy shit if they have been attacking the health care system for 4 years, then the syrians must have a hella number of hospitals if the need arose for the russians to continue to attack the evil evil health care system after years of relentless attacks from the syrian military

just wait until china starts attacking the syrian health care system in like 4-5 years

I mean the syrian health care system are some evil mother fukkers and he would rather fight them than ISIS

it all sounds so very very legit

Putin is a fuck up and time will make that clear ...

Actually, Putin's Iranian and Hezbollah stooges are the ones that will be paying the price. I am just waiting for the first of many Russian aircraft to go down and the Syrian and Iranian armor to be neutralized by all the TOW missiles that have been supplied to the FSA.

The Russians left with their tail between their legs in Afghanistan and Putin is foolish enough to want a rematch? The USA did only slightly better in Afghanistan ...

This guarantees the Syrian population will just flee and ... move to the EU. It's a tough call who is worse: the devil of Damascus or ISIS. There is no winner -- only losers in the Syrian cluster fuck

Your adhomonim style way of thinking and so called liberal mouth does not work in around middle east, Radical islamism could be handled by only means of iron fist and kudos to Russia, they do it very well.

if you think Russian army hit healthcare facility willingfully that shows how cluless dumfuck you are, Russia is aiding relatively secullar government of Syria, destroying the infostructure and public support would not benefit them, so they wouldn't want looking like bad guys around, simple as that.

RT and Sputnik are always truth LMAO.

I hardly think that Aljazeera is western media propaganda ... In fact they are generally anti-western. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has been proven to be reliable -- they first reported the Assad government's use of chemical weapons in the field and it's indiscriminate attacks with barrel bombs dropped from helicopters in civilian areas. Attacks with these chemical weapons are a Geneva convention violation and now the Russians, Iranians and Hezbollah are propping up their tool the 'Devil of Damascus' => Bashar Assad. Saddam controlled his population's rogue elements the same way by using nerve gas. Hafez al-Assad 1982 Hama Islamic uprising , the former president, and Bashar's father, of Syria was a ruthless animal. He was allied with the old Soviet Union where Putin cut his teeth in the KGB.

Meantime, Putin has a new issue. 36,000 NATO troops will be busy on his western border for the largest NATO military exercises in 13 years for a few months -- Merry Christmas! Let him turn red in the face and spit. This looks to me like another Vietnam all over again -- It looks like a long winter ...

Russia is buried in their own doings ... The Russians have everything to lose and little to gain by their actions in Ukraine and Syria. I had hoped they were smarter than that. The US really has nothing to show from it's aggression in Iraq and Afghanistan except a $3 trillion dollar war cost, near economic collapse the maiming and deaths of thousands of its servicemen and the maiming and deaths of hundreds of thousands Iraqis and Afghans -- it was a lose-lose game and the Russians are walking into the same sort of mess the warned the USA of in 2003, ironic ...

When the bombs and hostage situations go off again in your Muslim dominated provinces you should know why.

The US blew up a bunker with hundreds of civilians in the first weeks of the Iraq Invasion and claimed it was a 'command and control center', oops -- sorry. This sort of thing is nothing new. Fighting a war in civilian areas results in civilian casualties. That's why is there a mass exodus from Syria now?

I do find it odd that the 'investigators' would come in a tank ... Intimidation or paranoia?

For those who forgot it, during the whole Iranian-Iraqi conflict, Iran was supported by the USSR while Iraq was supported by the USA.

How many posts have I made about America (both northern and southern continents)? Dare to count, clown? If I mention your shithole in my posts, so only because it's the most discussed country at GFY and I do it only in context of the topic. I just can't ignore 90% of the threads here. Boy, I was a member of this board 9 years before you started to walk and leaned to wipe your own ass by yourself. On the other hand, on Russian-speaking forums we don't give a shit on what happened to Kardashian's ass or how many US citizens were killed during another mass shooting in the school. In a land of the free you have a right to kill or be killed - that's your choice and we don't care about you while it does not affect our own country somehow.

Here on gfy i saw many ignorants with big mouth talked about the things that they are unaware of, but you suppose to be great example of being clown with your way of ignorance.

firstly, in 1982 the hama uprizing was launched by Muslim brotherhood, they killled Nusayri/alavite doctor and military school students, so it was an extremist terrorism counter attacked by Syrian army and ended ended up by destruction of city of hama.

on the otherhand an other thinks that showed you cluless was Saddam and Bashar asad draw differant profiles with differant personallity.

unlike Saddam, he is an aphtalmologist doctor worked in London, he speaks fluent English and has European style of modern cloding, he expected to cause huge changes in syria about modernisation and catching up the today's World.

indeed he has done some, durring his rule internet became way more poppuler, he opened up friendlier relationships with western countries and liberalization of markets followed (though which caused harm more than good), but hopefully now his country is paying charge of supporting hezbollah against Israel durring the 2006 israeli-Lebanese war.

lastly, for the use of chemical gas claims, proofs mostly points out to the so called opposing front (islamists) though WHO really it was unknown.

West steps of the old errors of the USSR. the Soviet Union supported the terrorists in Palestine
These technologies one of them first.
the terrorism struck across the USSR in Afghanistan, it couldn't control terrorism and spent a lot of money for fight against it and war still isn't finished.
US is also well paid for the support of Osama ben Laden and terrorists in Afghanistan. 3000 lives in the US alone during the 911, then the war which killed nearly 4,000 more lives. (the Soviet Union lost in Afghanistan of 14 000 lives)
wars will exhaust the USA just as it was with the USSR.
will enrich at the expense of military budgets of neoconservatives and KGB as Putin and military corporations and ordinary citizens from it will only suffer and pay for it everything.

This story(s) of CIA support of Osama after the Russians left Afghanistan are ludicrous mush-brain disinformation.

Putin wants to create 'Pootinstan' now? Like he hasn't got enough problems now?

The Israelis have no hidden or vested interest in either ISIS or Jabhat al-Nusra or the FSA and only in the Kurds as the Kurds are fighting the Turks, Syrians and ISIS. How many bombs did the Americans drop in Iraq and what was the result? ISIS -- not too smart was it?

Neither the Russians nor the US alliance knows what they are doing in Syria or has a real end game -- wise up already ...

I hope there is a free Kurdistan with dependable borders as the Kurds are the only effective fighting force with the will to confront ISIS. I don't event think a revived Adolf Hitler Blitzkrieg could win against ISIS. ISIS is dug in deep and can be mobile when necessary. How many years, lives and treasure did it take to get bin-Laden's head on a platter? Literally, that is probably what they brought back as 'secret proof'. I know I would have with his cock and balls stuffed in his mouth

Just in from 'Canookistan' :OP:

Quote:
Russia's air strike campaign in Syria has killed 370 people, one third of them civilians, since it started three weeks ago, the Observatory said on Tuesday. ...
...Some FSA groups have received support including military training by the Central Intelligence Agency. Assad's main foreign foes include Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey.

The commander of another such group, the Nour al Din al-Zinki Brigades, was killed in fighting south of Aleppo on Monday.

The Syrian army backed by fighters from Iran and Lebanon's Hezbollah have launched a series of ground offensives against insurgent-held areas of western and northwestern Syria since Russia began air strikes in the country.

Russian HD Drone footage

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Q60yBQG8XI

Weird English soundtrack added?

Mine flies straight into the camera. The offensive by Syrian army on positions of terrorists.

Quote:
The video purports to show footage taken in Jobar, an eastern suburb of the capital, Damascus. The Syrian government and rebels have been fighting over Jobar for about two years; the video shows explosions and tanks firing in the middle of bombed-out streets. It is a surreal and hellish scene.

It's not clear who shot all of the video's footage, and the soundtrack of video game–style music definitely raises appropriate skepticism about its authenticity. But Eliot Higgins, founder of the investigative journalism outlet Bellingcat and an expert on scrutinizing footage from Syria, thinks the video is credible.

"It certainly looks like Jobar," Higgins wrote via email. "I've seen similar quality drone footage from elsewhere; looks like they've done a bit of post production with the colouring to make it look nicer."

If the video is authentic, it goes to show just how utterly devastated parts of Syria have been by the war. According to Syria Deeply, Jobar has been almost entirely depopulated by the past two years of intense fighting.

This nightmarish drone footage claims to show scenes from Syria's civil war - Vox

So you are really sympathize to the radical Islamists? I just want to make it clear. Are you a fuckin' radical Islamist? Let me guess, you name is Mohamed and your father is a Muslim terrorist who was beaten and ass-raped by the jailers in Guantanamo? If you love ISIS that much, why do you still live in the infidel States? Why don't you grow a beard, take a jihadist flag and go to Syria to behead Christians? Maybe Syria is not an option and you are preparing a terrorist attack right in the USA? Something like 9/11? Have I got it right?

Do you have a boner looking at the image above? You are such a piece of shit...
