So GFY community award for best movie of 2015 goes to...

Sicario.

Agree? If not - which was your #1 movie of 2015?

Sicario was a good movie but IMHO, wasn't the best movie of 2015. Star Wars wins that by a long shot as far as I'm concerned. There were some decent movies in 2015, but overall, it was a pretty lackluster year. For me, here's my list of best movies for 2015.

1. Star Wars The Force Awakens
2. The Martian
3. Straight Outta Compton
4. Sicario
5. Creed
6. Mad Max Fury Road
7. Citizenfour
8. Peanuts Movie
9. Avengers Age of Ultron
10. Mission Impossible Rogue Nation

"Sicario" was indeed the very best of 2015. "The Hateful Eight" looks promising.

haven't seen Sicario yet. best I've seen so far is probably Mistress America. also really liked Heaven Knows What and While We're Young.

Sicario barely beats Mad Max for my best movie. I did see Mad Max three times, but Sicario only needs to be seen once. It's so good.

The Martian - I am disappointed. There is nothing special about that movie, just an interesting predictable story without anything that makes you think.
It is a movie that I could recommend as one of the movies you may watch if you want to watch something, but definitely not a movie that is supposedly one of the best ones of the year.
Basic interesting cookie cutter scenario movie. Big names and hype tricks many people into thinking it was good.
Just 2 cents of course.

I watched Creed. Same as previous Balboa movies. Everything feels exactly the same just different characters, fighters, different setting and decorations, but it is the same thing. Just cashing in on the Rocky fame. So I mean it is ok movie to watch, but it feels like you watched it many times already

It seems the revenant is going to be considered a 2015 movie and it looks interesting enough for me to break my DiCaprio movie boycott, maintained since inception. It could go straight to the top. But. I've read the movie is quite gory at times, tarantino style, and I'm very much not wanting to see that sort of gore.

Mad max fury road was nominated for golden globe Best picture, BTW movie snobs.

the revenant - I consider it movie of 2016, despite their little trick with limited preview on 25th of December. They probably saw that there is not much competition for 2015
On a serious note - I would not allow such antics. Full public release day should count, not some fake pre-release.
