Like it or not, America has strong influence all over the world. Plus, we are your closest neighbour, and have the most in common. We have friends and families and business partners in the US that we care about. Whatever happens in American Politics affects others too.

They're leaving a war zone. Because the US took out Saddam and his Army. Leaving a Government that has never been able to stop rebels. Syria is a country of so many factions only a leader like Assad can keep the lid on it. The West wants to replace him.

Refugees in Turkey are persecuted so want to get out. Once in Greece, they should register and stay there waiting for instructions. And here is where it gets messy. And where they become economic migrants.
