right now a Dutch journalist who is in Turkey is arrested by the Turkish police because of one tweet about fascist dictator and IS business partner Erdogan.

Just read the tweet with loads of reactions: Dutch twitter names all say its ridiculous. Dutch people with muslim twitter names are, ofcourse, cheering. Completely the opposite of Dutch values and the importance of freedom of speech.

Idiot, let me explain: Media demonized these people with ongoing hate campaigns, especially in Fortuyns case. It was a crazy bitter hate campaign, while he was the only one telling it like it is. Result is he is dead.

I see in the media in the US that it is happening again. It's exactly the same as it was here in Holland, it's like a rerun only the person is different. The propaganda is sickening and downright dangerous. It's propaganda on steroids, breeding people who will hate Trump more and more because of the lies they believe. You wouldn't believe how many people still believe anything they are told when it is on TV or in the newspaper.

I had Spanish class in Mexico with a refugee from Syria. He first went to Brazil and than Mexico. Cause with a Syrian passport you can't travel to most countries. That is also a reason Syrian people cheapest and easiest option is to go to Europe. Everyday he looked at internet to found out of hes neighbourhood was bombed. He had pictures of his neighborhood, hardly any house wasn't bombed.

It was a nice guy and was in the army of assad and almost all his friends died. There where like 5 different army's fighting and they didn't know who was friend or enemy anymore. He wanted to go to America or europe, i advised USA or stay in Mexico. That's cause i explained him what was happening in Holland and Germany where more and more people don't want refugees and can't handle it. In Mexico he could start over without all cultural problesm, people from a mexican church gave him food and a place to stay. There was a man from the USA embassy and heard the story and helped him for a visa to USA. He was a cristian btw.

Dont' think they want to sell, they are happy what they are doing. Relaxing, sellling beer renting out hammocks and talking about woman and sports.

Big cities are nice for a while. But in the end i just want a quiet beach/island and good internet and some good bars with latin music. There are thousands of people working online while travelling to these places. I meet them in Thailand and see them back in Colombia. Haven't seen New York yet, high on my list, but only for a few months.

Also nice to relax without all the people complaining about politics. I will see what will happen here, government has many problems and maybe extreme evangelist people will take over. They have their own army already... if that happens, i just move on.. While if you are in Holland and want to stay there you can complain for years, nothing will change anyway. In Holland there is 1 fart about muslims and everybody gets crazy. But nothing will change cause in the end people vote for the same politicians.

Wow you need to get some bigger dreams. LOL New York is the center of the universe. People come here to succeed and strike it rich, not drive trucks or taxis. Nothing wrong with blue collar work, it's honest and needed. But most New Yorkers aspire to better lives than driving trucks or selling drugs.

I actually agree with your views (and others here) about traveling and working online. I do it myself. In fact, the truth is if I didn't have family here in NYC I would probably live on a beach somewhere and we could discuss this in a hammock over some beers. LOL

The Internet has changed everything and if you work "online" then you indeed have total freedom. Someday I will retire to your fine looking beach!
