The world's biggest pussy fires an AR-15, his thoughts...

Firing an AR-15 is horrifying, menacing and very very loud - NY Daily News

My god...

It feels like a bazooka — and sounds like a cannon.

One day after 49 people were killed in the Orlando shooting, I traveled to Philadelphia to better understand the firepower of military-style assault weapons and, hopefully, explain their appeal to gun lovers.

But mostly, I was just terrified.

That guy needs to turn in his man card.

That article is a textbook example of sensationalized reporting.

Not sure what a bazooka feels like or what a cannon sounds like.

Yeah that guy is being a girl...but for someone who hasn't fired it or been in the presence of it being fired, it can probably be a wild experience. I've fired many rounds of .223, and even with hearing protection you can't help feel the awesome power of that discharge.

The 7.62 packs an even bigger punch. I was at The Gun Store firing range in Vegas a few years ago, and remember doing a double take when the guy next to me was firing a full auto AK. You can feel it in your bones.

I immediately bought 2 boxes of 7.62 to give it a spin and it was my favorite gun ever to shoot. The SAW was a blast also.

But imagine how scary it is to be on the receiving end of that power.

tbh I felt the same reaction as Kuntzman (lol, I saw it too, that name is SO perfect for a porn forum) first time I saw a youtube vid posted here of an ar-15 in action. felt sick to my stomach. just my natural reaction; pure revulsion

doesn't mean I vilify those who enjoy things that go boom. I find it relaxing to listen to cod explosions as I work, sure to some that would be repulsive as well and they'd be horrified by me enjoying it.

oh well

point is there's nothing 'pussy' about being nauseated observing an exhibition of a weapon designed to kill people. same as there's nothing wrong with not having that reaction.

always confounding to me that peeps get so irked by peeps who differ from themselves in terms of position/thoughts/experience. fuck me, life would suck if I was surrounded by peeps exactly like me. I'd never learn anything new and would be bored to tears. yet so many seem to desire that. confounding. life would be less annoying, sure, but the ennui would be killer

this is why I wish media literacy was a required course in all schools, in all grades. so more peeps would demand more from their sources of information

first person journalism is always inherently biased and personal, as it's told in the first person.

I don't find this mode in isolation all that helpful to the discourse or in achieving solutions as it's inherently polarizing and tends to be low on concrete data and high on anecdotal evidence. In research and journalism first person def has a vital place (particularly when marginalized communities produce their own work), but it's only one side of the pillar that is now the combined 4th and 5th estates

This ish on both 'sides' is preaching to the choir. You're bad for liking guns, you're bad for not liking guns. And on and on and on. The article and this thread are both perfect examples of this incredibly unhelpful process.

The issue of gun violence in the US could (like many other issues) get solved if peeps started listening and talking, with the emphasis on the former. Won't hold my breath

For mass killing, an AR-15 is not the weapon to use. Look at the stats; Orlando, 102 people shot and only 49 killed. San Bernardino, with 2 AR-15s, 36 people shot and 14 killed.

The AR-15 uses .223 rounds which is meant to maim more so than to kill. The idea is that when you hit one soldier, you take 2 to 3 soldiers out of the fight because the soldier that got shot is yelling and screaming for help thereby getting 1 or 2 other solders to help. Soldiers helping the wounded can't fight.

That sissy should put a suppressor on the end if it is too loud for his sissy ears.

Not a word on whether she hit the target.

Nice feet though.
